Congratulations to our 100th National President Brian “Coop” Cooper! 🥂🍾
Our Kin Campus Club is so proud to be a member of as we celebrate our centennial year as an association!

We are pleased to announce that Brian “Coop” Cooper of has been named the 100th National President of Kin Canada!

Coop joined the Kinsmen Club of Bridgewater, NS in 1988 after seeing a very enthusiastic group of members taking part in the town's parade. Coop quickly took a very active role attending events not just in his club but across Atlantic Canada. He was honoured with the prestigious title of Life Member in 2005.

After retiring from teaching elementary school on the South Shore in 2014, Coop transferred to the Kin Club of Halifax in 2015. His wife, Carol, is also a member of the co-ed Kin club. Carol is a Life Member herself and served as National President in 1999-2000. Interestingly, Carol is a third-generation member and is the granddaughter of one of the founding members of the association. The love for Kin Canada and giving back to the community runs deep in the Cooper family.

Coop’s potential was evident from the moment he inquired about joining the Bridgewater club. Life Member Eric Hiltz who acted as Coop’s sponsor stated: “During my time in Kin I have sponsored many members but only one Coop. You talk about a diamond in the rough, Coop was the epitome of that. Brian's interest and dedication in Kin has made me so proud and his contributions have and will continue to benefit our great organization. Being National President during our centennial year has Brian so excited, and with Past President Carol by his side, 2020 will be a banner year for Kin”.

With Coop’s background is education, it was only natural for him to serve on the association’s National Education and Training Committee which develops learning resources to help clubs across the country be successful. The Chair of the committee, Melodie LeMoeligou, stated: “From the first time I met Coop, I have been amazed by his passion for Kin and serving his community. Always ready to take up the challenge, whatever the cause. He is a humble man with a huge heart. Coop inspires his fellow members to be the best they can be.”

In the National President role, Coop will lead the association’s National Board of Directors and will travel throughout Canada to visit clubs and hear about their challenges and successes. When asked about his vision for the year, Coop stated: "Our upcoming centennial celebration will be our greatest opportunity to demonstrate to Canadians who we are, what we have achieved in the past, and with their support, what we can accomplish in the future."

Please join the family of Kin in congratulating National President Coop!
