Musical Theatre, Tap classes and private vocal lessons for children ages 4+

10/19/2020

Well, I guess it’s time to come out of retirement.

We will be running ONE program for the remainder of this year on Tuesday evenings for the next 8 weeks. In this program we will be putting together a Mini Winter Musical that we will perform at an outside theatre mid December. This program will be in-person, going above and beyond to follow AHS protocols in regards to covid.

We have a couple spots left, send us an email if you’d like more info and to register! Class starts tomorrow! I can’t wait to be back in the studio with your magnificent humans. Don’t judge me if I show up with a lamb or a bunch of baby chicks in my pocket mmkay thanks.

Some of our performers met in person today for the first time since March. We kept an imaginary elephant between us and didn’t sing, but we sure danced, recited lines, shook pom poms and kicked off recording for our Year End Video Production. Most importantly, we laughed and smiled and shared energy even if it meant rainbow energy hugs instead of squeezy hugs. What a wonderful, beautiful, magical, heart bursting day indeed. Thank you for trusting us with your amazing kids💛

Miss Nicole H kicked off our weekend Family Yoga series today and it was spectacular!

I’m truly amazed by how a virtual class can be so rewarding, energetically connecting and can leave our cups so full they overflow! Thank you Miss Nicole for sharing your magic (and beautiful family) with us all.

Thank you to so many wonderful Starry Night families that enthusiastically met us on our yoga mats this morning! I loved being a student and participating in a class with all of you 🙂

Miss Nicole H will also be tag team teaching our Pluto Ballet/Jazz class with me for the rest of the season and continuing with our Extra choreography. It’s been about 11 years and a handful of babies since we taught together...I’m so grateful and excited to have you back on our team 💜

Good Morning Meteors!!! Rise and shine! ☀️

How about you teach YOUR parents something new today?! Every time your parents go to the kitchen to get you food, let’s ask them to march instead of walk! Don’t forget, knees up, toes pointed, standing tall with big beautiful smiles!! Let’s ask your parents to put their hands in hip position for now...until they get the hang of it.

Now there’s one last important thing we always remember when practicing our marches. Our leg always passes through________.
I’ll give you a hint: sometimes a pink bird stands this way...

If you think you know write the answer below! 👇

We can’t wait to see those marches!

Wishing you a wonderful, magical, purposeful, peaceful day full of laughter and love!

“The first year it sleeps...the second year it creeps...the third year it LEAPS!” 🌲

Our Starry Night Team has woken up. We’ve entered our “second year” which in real time has only been a week. We are now “creeping” forward. Cautiously. Gently. Yet fuelled by the excitement of new opportunities, not to mention faith, trust and little bit of pixie dust. ✨

With the support of our theatre community, we have stepped out of the box, put our thinking caps together and creative lightbulbs have begun to turn on. New, exciting ideas are being birthed and the future looks just as incredible as it did before the world suddenly changed.

Music is being played again. Dances are being choreographed again. Laughter can be heard again. Creativity, learning and community will soon return to Center stage.

Don’t put those dance shoes and music binders away just yet, my friends. Starry Night Children’s Theatre is getting ready to LEAP!

Ps. See Pegasus our mini horse’s bangs in this photo? That is the exact reason you DO NOT want to cut you or your child’s hair at this moment. Hair salons will also soon return. Until then, put the bowl and scissors down and walk away. Repeat. Do not cut your child’s hair in the coming weeks/months. Their ballet buns will thank you.

FourAM food for thought (wash your hands before you take a bite)...the term “social distancing” is everywhere right now. As it should be, we know what needs to be done. However, we also need eachother.

I stumbled across this photo today of our dancers holding up our “Jojo” during a lyrical piece last spring. I remember rehearsing this on a day when one dancer was missing. Fingers slipped and our jojo almost fell. Every single person was important in the success of this lift, and without every single person she would have fallen.

As a lifter we teach and are taught to never ever let a dancer hit the floor. We are living what we dance and teach right now. We not only need to do our part to “physically distance” but we need to do our part to hold each other up, stronger then ever. Without eachother we will fall. With eachother we will fly. Or at least gracefully glide across the stage with our toes pointedly, preferably in a solid retire 😋

Physically isolate but please do not socially isolate....we need eachother more then ever right now💫
