Hey Facebook followers. I don't post much here. It's been almost an entire year since my last post on this page.
I share most of my thoughts on LinkedIn and sometimes IG.
Feel free to connect with me and/or follow me there.

Trail run up loop. This is my buddy - partner in crime.
Ty and I are running the NoF**ks50k in a month, Sun 7 80k this July and then the 100k in Sep.
A great run today. Exceptional views and very little wind on the summit.
A perfect Sunday.
Happy Easter!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the narrative of, “I gotta work more to get ahead.”
Sure, you gotta work. You gotta put in the reps, the hours, etc.
But what about rest?
Rest is for losers! Rest is for people who don’t want to win!
Really?
That’s what Arianna Huffington - Founder of Huffington Post - thought… until she passed out from fatigue and woke up on her kitchen floor with a broken face.
Can’t happen to you?
Maybe you fall a sleep at the wheel.
Maybe you trip down the stairs.
Maybe you [insert some fatigue induced accident].
If you’re lucky, the one hurt is you.
Look. I get it. Athlete vs CEO is an unfair comparison. Still, there’s wisdom in work rest ratios.
Work hard. Rest. Do both.
If something didn’t get done today, it is what it is. I already assume you did your best. Tomorrow’s a new day.

"Life is HARD. Easy is not an option." - Les Brown
I think can all relate to the hardships of life, wouldn't you agree?
In November 2019, I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress, in part, the result of my military deployment to Somalia in 1992/93.
I didn't believe the psychologist's words. I responded, "You've got the wrong guy. I didn't see combat. I didn't do anything worthwhile. I was just there."
While I didn't believe the diagnosis, I was well aware that my life at the time felt a lot harder than it needed to be.
Staying where I was at was already hard.
Choosing to participate in therapy was also going to be hard.
I had to choose my hard, and 22 months later I'm so glad I did. 🙏🏼
Choose Your Hard has since been a very important message for me to share.
The man in the photo is my friend Adam. He lives in North Carolina. I gave have him a t-shirt a few weeks ago - along with the context - and this is what he shared with me today...
"10 miler this morning in this oddly sexual but super motivating t-shirt 😉 😉 "
I laughed. Quite honestly, when I had the shirts made up, not for once did I think of any sexual innuendo. It is what it is. 😂
Regardless if you're the CEO or the leader who reports directly to the CEO, you have so much power and influence in the community and beyond... and if you want to make the impact you aspire to make in our world, then I hope you already know you have to choose your hard.
All paths are hard. Choose YOUR hard... because easy is not an option.

There are lot of challenges in our lives - most of which is not in our control.
What is in our control… the words we use.
The words we use have more of an impact on our lives than anything else.
Change your words. Change your life.

Hey humans... I don't play here very often. Mostly on LinkedIn and Instagram.
If you want more of what I share in your life, go there. 😉

Sunday recovery ride from yesterday’s stride 🏃🏻♂️… not to mention the rest of the weeks’s efforts.
For me, there’s nothing better than a chill bike ride to flush out the recent week and set myself up for the week ahead.
How about you? What do you do for you? 🤔

Excitement comes in all forms. For me, it’s new shoe day. For .cooncat it’s a new box to squeeze into.
The is one of my favourite trail running shoes, and these is for wet spring trails. 😎
So ya, Marma-Sandy, I do indeed need “another” pair of shoes 😉

STOP 🛑
STOP waiting for others pick you.
Pick yourself.
There’s a debilitating and disempowering narrative out there (or worse, a belief) that your success is somehow predicated on the condition of you getting picked… as if success is somehow an *if only*;
• if only a VC would invest in my company
• if only a sponsor would contribute to my event
• if only a Dragon or Shark would buy into my business
• if only an influencer would share & mention my company and product
• if only a celebrity would…
• if only the government would…
• if only [insert disempowering condition here]…
Sound familiar?
Stop waiting for others to see the potential in you and/or your idea, to back you, to fund you, to pick you.
Pick yourself.
Sure… along the way someone may very well step to support you, contribute to your cause, donate, partner, sponsor, etc… the determining factor, however, is, “along the way,”…
…meaning;
• no one picks you if you’re sitting still
• no one picks you if you aren’t already putting in the reps
• no one picks you if you haven’t already picked yourself
As we head into 2022, make a conscious and deliberate decision at the the beginning of each and every day forward to pick yourself. You gaurantee you won’t regret it.

Putting in the reps regardless of the weather.
9.44kms in -31C/-24F… with the wind, it was -40C/-40F…
While mindset is key to success, we can’t underestimate the benefit of good choices in clothing. 😉
There’s no such thing as bad weather… only bad clothing choices. 😉
