CRD is hiring exceptional teachers!

Calgary Regional Dance is growing, and we’re seeking passionate and career-minded educators to join our faculty—especially those who excel in teaching classical ballet and/or younger students. We offer an outstanding and supportive work environment where teachers are respected, mentored, and given real opportunities to grow.
Our studio is known for delivering profound results with our students. Teachers who work with us become even better at what they do.

We’re looking for individuals with integrity, reliability, and a deep desire to collaborate, pursue ongoing education, and contribute to a shared mission of excellence.

If you're ready to teach in a place with high standards, devoted families, exceptional colleagues, and strong leadership, we’d love to hear from you.

Please message or email [email protected] with your resume, age groups you work best with, genres of specialty, and any other relevant strengths you bring to the table.
Let’s elevate the next generation—together.

Transformation Tuesday:

This is a progress photo after 2 months of training with CRD. This is transformative training.

This student arrived at her first consultation with Miss Melissa, believing she did not have turnout. One assessment made it clear there was A LOT of turnout potential that could be realized! Swipe to see how beautifully this student’s turnout strength is developing.

Looking at where the knee faces (very important to note you check this when the legs are straight), you can see her femur used to point more forward while her feet were pulled back. Besides not being able to build real turn out, which has technical and artistic implications in all genres, this kind of position puts significant strain on the joints of the leg. This can cause Achilles pain, restrictions in ankle mobility, inability to fully straighten knees, dysfunction of important muscle groups, and excessive tension in the front of the hip, to name a few.

Now she is able to hold her femur in an externally rotated position (turnout) using muscles that will support continuous progress in all genres.✨ Well done, Azaria!!

PROGRESS PICTURES! This student began training with Miss Melissa in the summer with a handful of semi-private lessons and lots of rest to start the training process. Regular training started in September.

This muscular change was achieved THROUGH DANCE TECHNIQUE ALONE, he did not receive physical therapy or work outside of CRD.

**Note: Both photos are of the student’s shoulders AT REST. In the after picture, the student is not pulling his shoulders back or artificially flattening out the scapula. This is how his shoulder now naturally sits due to rebuilding muscles of the whole upper body.

Scapular “winging” causes decreased strength and range of motion issues. In dancers, not building the upper back limits the ability to move arms correctly, support posture/stability, jump height, achieve various movement qualities, and the list goes on. It also dramatically increases risk of injury.

If dancers learn to load the correct muscles groups while training, amazing things happen! We are so proud of what Crosby has done with the instruction given to him. Well done .dancer! 👏👏👏

We recognize we do things differently here at CRD. We sincerely believe that an entire dance season is simply not necessary to perfect a competition routine. Focusing on dance education and technique ensures well rounded dancers that can take their performances further.

We are still accepting auditions (until December 10th) for our 2024 competition season. Please message us for more information!

Our Studio - 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴

Our studios feature Rosco's Adagio dance floor overlay on a sprung base. This greatly reduces impact to dancers bodies and assists in their performance. Free floating mirrors and barres are utilized for better training conditions. High ceilings, and stunning new finishes create a wonderful space to train.

Who wants to see more of our beautiful space? ✨
