Another beautiful Kindergarten Graduation celebration wrapped up for the year with Mrs. Thornton’s amazing class! 🎓❤️

These little Kindergarten students have grown so much this year and are more than ready to take on Grade 1 this fall. While we know they will be greatly missed, we are so proud of all they have learned, the friendships they built, and the confidence they gained along the way.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Thornton for the endless patience, life lessons, and daily hugs that made Kindergarten such a special place for our students. Your care and dedication truly made a difference in their little lives. 💕

And of course, thank you to Sherry Kroeger for once again making the much-loved cupcakes that helped make the celebration extra sweet! 🧁

Busy week or not… we couldn’t end the school year without one of the students’ favourite events,
🥇💨Track & Field Day!🏃‍♂️🥇

Even on a very hot day, our students gave it their all. Cheer each other on and had an amazing time.

A huge thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, staff, and everyone working behind the scenes to make this day happen for our students. Special thanks to Miss Carew, Mrs. Beynon, and Mrs. Perreault from the OPS team for all the time, energy, and planning you put into creating such a fun and memorable day for the kids.

We wrapped up the day with popsicles and they were definitely a hit! 🍦☀️ What a great way to make end-of-year memories! 💙💛

The fur trade lasted from the 1600’s to the 1900’s and played a major role in shaping Canada’s early economy and western expansion.

Thank you to Kelly Wilson, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Officer for Oyen and Area for sharing his knowledge and expertise about Alberta’s wildlife and the importance of animal furs throughout Canadian history with our Grades 3&4 students!

It was amazing for students to connect history, wildlife, and conservation all in one learning experience. We appreciate community members who help bring learning to life beyond the classroom walls! 🦊🦫🐺🍁

Another field trip in the books for OPS! 🎉🚌

This time our Grade 5 crew headed off to Circle Square Ranch for a day full of adventure, laughter, teamwork, and memories we know they’ll be talking about all summer long! From outdoor fun to nonstop energy, we’re pretty sure the kids slept very well last night, teachers and parent drivers included!! 😄

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing parent drivers for giving up their time, surviving the noise level, and helping get everyone there and back safely. We truly couldn’t do these experiences without you! ❤️

Again, we are very grateful for all the fundraising support throughout the year that helped make these field trips possible for our students. Every pizza kit, card box, hanging baskets, hot lunch, and fundraiser effort helped create memories these kids will never forget!!

🦋 Grade 3 Field Trip Fun! 🎉

Our Grade 3 students had an amazing day exploring John’s Butterfly House and enjoying some exciting time at Fun ’N Games in Medicine Hat last Friday! From seeing beautiful butterflies up close to sharing laughs and adventures together, it was a day full of learning, fun, and unforgettable memories.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts throughout the year to help make this field trip possible. Your generosity and support gave our students an experience they will always remember! 💙🚌✨

What an exciting day for our students at the Dummy Roping Competition hosted by Berry Creek Community School on Tuesday! 🤠🐴

A huge congratulations to:

🏆 Eldon Wilson for bringing home 1st Place and winning a beautiful buckle in the Kindergarten to Grade 3 category!

👏 Grant Fletcher for placing 4th in the Grade 4-6 category!

It was a great day of Roping with other Schools and a whole bunch of kids. We are so proud of all the students who participated, roped their hearts out, and enjoyed this wonderful opportunity. Thank you to the organizers, families, and supporters who helped make the day such a success! 💙💛

What a beautiful way to wrap up another meaningful year of Roots of Empathy at Oyen Public School ❤️

We celebrated our Roots of Empathy wind-up, a program that has helped our students learn kindness, compassion, understanding, and the importance of caring for one another throughout the year.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Lealla for being such an incredible Roots of Empathy leader and guiding our students with patience and dedication. We are also so grateful to FCSS for sponsoring this wonderful program and helping make it possible for our school community. Special thanks as well to Marianne for taking the time to attend and celebrate with us.

And of course, the biggest little star of the year, baby Ashton 🩵 Thank you for being the sweetest “teacher” to our students all year long. The children looked forward to every visit and learned so much through your smiles, milestones, and presence.

A very special thank you to Ashton’s mom, Charlene, for generously sharing her time, supporting the program, and allowing our students to experience such meaningful connections throughout the year.

Programs like Roots of Empathy remind us how powerful small community connections can be. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year so special! 🌱

We celebrated a truly special milestone at Oyen Public School as we honored the retirement of Mrs. Carla Stammers after many years of dedication, care, and commitment to our school community. 💐

Mrs. Stammers has touched the lives of so many students, staff, and families through her kindness, hard work, and support over the years. Her presence will be deeply missed, but we are so excited for this next chapter!

A huge thank you as well to our amazing Student Council for organizing thoughtful gifts and helping make this celebration extra meaningful. Your kindness and appreciation truly showed! ❤️
