Wishing all a happy Holiday from the X-Culture family
Just wanted to share this video with everyone to help bring awareness of some of the learning curbs our students experience in and outside of the classroom.
At times we as educators need to review the holistic situation of the student before we are quick to judge a student's performance. This same concept applies to student at college and university
WHAT IS X-CULTURE CARIBBEAN
X-Culture is a successful global phenomenon, that allows students from all across the globe from the best universities to gain practical experience of working with an international organization in an attempt to resolve a real-world problem via virtual collaboration with other university students.
The students are usually placed in international virtual teams of 7 students per team, with each person being from a different country. The teams are then given the mandate of solving a real-life problem presented by a real-life company. As part of this process, the team will learn about other countries, cultures and how to collaborate online while working as a team to solve a business challenge.
To date, more than 40,000 students have participated in this X-Culture programme and the results and testimony of both participants and business clients have been phenomenal. Following the popularity of the project with universities, X-Culture has been receiving several requests to create a "kids" version for younger children who are capable and could greatly benefit from interacting with their peers around the world.
Due to the high request, X-Culture has a beta-test and open the X-Culture programme to children ages 9-17 and non-student adults where all participants will work with peers of their own age to resolve a real-life business challenge similar to the challenge offered to university students. For the younger student age 9-17, they would be given a simplified task with additional pre-project training to ensure they are fully prepared for the experience
The participant of this project would have the opportunity to develop a creative solution to an international company, either by creating a new product, establishing new markets or finding alternative solutions to the current problem the company is currently facing while staying within the projected budget. Also as a participant of this course, persons would engage in weekly online training, regular meetings, and various personality that exist within a global virtual team.
Having this experience would allow person learn better time management, planning and collaboration while focusing on overcoming issues such as time zone conflicts, language barrier, cultural understanding. This is why university and prospective employers appear to favour persons who participated in similar programmes like the one being offered by X-Culture.
Another advantage of participating in this programme is that it helps persons improve their management skills, writing and comprehension skills, improve oral communication and English translation and the programme provide an opportunity to have a global network of friends/associates from different parts of the world.
