It's one of the most common questions we get. And honestly, the confusion is completely understandable.

Here's a quick breakdown:

✅ CPR/AED. Focuses on cardiac arrest response and defibrillation. Great for individuals, parents, and workplace compliance basics.

✅ Emergency First Aid (EFA). Covers CPR PLUS bleeding, choking, shock, and more. Required for many Alberta OHS-regulated workplaces.

✅ Standard First Aid (SFA). The most comprehensive option. Ideal for designated first aiders, healthcare settings, and high-risk environments.

Kids are more capable than we think. Teaching them even ONE simple step can make a real difference when it matters most.

Here's a great place to start:

✅ Teach them to CALL for help. "Call 911 and stay on the line" is a powerful first lesson.
✅ Show them how to find a trusted adult quickly.

🚨 Someone's choking. Do you know what to do?

Most people freeze in that moment. Here's a simple way to remember the steps:

✅ Ask them to cough forcefully first
✅ Give up to 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades
✅ Follow with up to 5 chest thrusts if needed
✅ Repeat until the object clears or help arrives

These three steps could save someone's life at dinner, at work, or on the playground.
