We're always in need of more acoustic panels at the studio! Usually the panels are foam, boards, and simply plain. This time, I made some of my own! I packed IKEA frames with acoustic foams and I can use them as art as well! What do you think?

It's always a big trip to the bookstore before lessons begin! Got so many books that the sales associate grabbed a dolly and helped me take the two heavy boxes to my car! Thanks Kim at Calgary's Royal Oaks .

The music family who built the keyboard bench for us last year built us something even more incredible this year! The dad built a whole new set of custom benches (with shoe storage underneath) and a jacket hanging system for the Nolan Hill studio! By the front door he created a new countertop with a shoe shelf underneath. In the corner he made a set of drawers for storage but more importantly, a space to put our star charts! We are so super grateful! The craftsmanship is amazing! The space seems bigger and cleaner. There's more space to sit but there's also more space for shoes. Jackets can be hung around the corner on two tiers. There are also treble clefs at the end of each rod. I simply wanted nicer seats than what we had before (which were individual chairs that were bulky and left marks on the walls). This dad had a beautiful vision for this space and so he designed and built something I couldn't have even imagine myself. Thank-you to the dad of ava and .10_ve

Fall is a great time to start music lessons! Our studios are located in Northwest Calgary in the communities of Nolan Hill and Hanson Ranch/Hidden Valley. We offer private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, drums and theory and violin. We only have one more group class available in our Music for Young Children program: Sunbeams 1 (ages 5.5-7).

Hi LT Music Families! Our first week of lessons will begin Saturday, September 5 to Friday, September 11. We cannot wait to see all our returning students and welcome new students to our studio.

We still have availability in private piano, voice, guitar, drums and clarinet.

For MYC group classes, we only have availability in Sunbeams 1 (ages 5.5 to 6) on Thursday 6-7 pm.

Yesterday the entire reception team cleaned up both the Nolan Hill and Hanson Ranch studios. We started at 10 am and didn't finish until 7:00 pm! We deep cleaned every studio room, washroom, waiting area, kitchen, and hallway. But we also wiped down every instrument, pencil, pencil holder, crevice, window and blinds. (Also wiped every little trinket on all our display shelves). Now both studios are sparkling clean, smell so fresh and ready to welcome students again starting Saturday, September 5. Here is a quick recap of the wedding of Ms Brittany and Mr Cyrus! (They got married August 15, 2026 so this post is a bit delayed.) Congratulations to these two love birds who once taught at Leading Tone Music Studio. Ms Brittany was my student when she was just a wee girl (before photos were saved on the cloud so the earliest photo I could find on the cloud was from 2016 when Brittany was already a teacher!). The photo with Mr Cyrus was from 2022. At that time I wanted to find a guitar teacher and Ms Brittany referred her boyfriend to me - which was such a blessing, cuz he is so talented! Mr Cyrus taught guitar, piano and drums at the studio and he often wrote music with his students. It has been a great pleasure having these two wonderful people teach at the studio for a number of years. Thank you for having me at your wedding. It is special to know both the bride and groom. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness! 💞

The campers had so much fun with musical chairs. It's a classic but always fun! I was in charge of music so I didn't see the silliness until I watched the videos.
