We celebrated a very special day at the dayhome, bringing together the joy of Krishna Janmashtami and a joint birthday celebration!
​The kids had so much fun getting involved—they helped decorate the boards with colourful flowers and greenery, and loved exploring all the festive setups, from the beautiful garlands to the little decorative peacocks and elephants. It was such a wonderful blend of tradition, teamwork, and birthday cheer!

Our Adventure at the YouthLink Calgary Police Discovery Centre! 🚔✨
​Our dayhome crew had a wonderful and adventurous time visiting the YouthLink Calgary Police Discovery Centre today! The children loved the hands-on learning experiences, exploring how officers keep our community safe, and seeing police tools and vehicles in action. Little officers in Action

​Our police pretend play was packed with creative, hands-on learning! The children explored traffic safety by making puppet props—including traffic lights, stop signs, and no-entry boards—and role-played as traffic officers. They stepped into the shoes of forensic experts by capturing their fingerprints for police records, matched shape patterns on police badges, and engaged in rich playdough exploration to craft footprints, handcuffs, and playdough tools. Through group discussions, the children brainstormed the many roles and names of police officers in our community and discovered the specialized rescue vehicles officers use to help people in need.

​We took advantage of the nice weather and went for a lovely nature walk. The children kept busy counting tall and short trees, examining different rock sizes and patterns, and pointing out the various rock sculptures displayed outside homes along our route.
