Calgary Alberta West Stake Quilting

Today’s weather is not helpful for doing much traveling. Stay home if you can. Here’s a look at what we’ve been doing.

October’s technique is No-Waste Flying Geese. I made instructions & diagrams to teach this technique.

We’ve been busy!! It’s so much fun making use of our donated fabric. These quilts will bless the lives of those who have a need. Come join us on Monday’s at 10 am.

The 80’s have returned! We are getting a head start on the fall start of our group quilting. Stay tuned, the next quilt is about to come off the long arm machine. September 18 will be our first day back at creating. New time!!! 10 am - 1 pm on Mondays.

This quilt was pieced by my friend, Jerry. I quilted & bound it. What a fun use of the ladybug fabric!

Another quilt finished. We enjoy piecing interesting backings for the quilts. It’s important to make the best use of our donation fabrics.

We now have labels for our charity quilts!

Tomorrow will be the last day we are getting together until “Your’s Truly” returns from a very warm southern clime. Jerry has put together 2 quilt tops and I have another ready for quilting. We will reconvene on May 2. We’re making progress!

After a 3 year hiatus, we are back to charity quilting again. When we left off, we had made 15 quilts that we donated. Then last year donated 12 more. We meet Tuesday afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Calgary West Stake Center.

A sampler quilt that was all done & waiting for binding. I found the lost fabric and promptly made and applied the binding. 12 different blocks and a fun setting.

Looking for a simple project? This little quilt is 36” X 48”. Simple piecing and then have fun quilting designs.
