It’s finally here! Our online auction is ready to go and has so many amazing items! Whether you’re buying for someone on your Christmas list or indulging in something for yourself, this has something for everyone. Create an account, bid away, and we will contact you for payment and pickup when the auction closes on December 11th!

This year we will be using the funds for so many things including items teachers request, activity day supplies, kid inventor supplies, sports banquets, field trip fees, grocery cards for families needing support, staff appreciation, earth day apples, and so much more. A few parents have organized a “well wishes” drop off for our teachers. The strike will be unpaid and we’re sure teachers are feeling stressed and torn. If parents and or students would like to send cards, notes, signs etc, you can drop off in the office or bring them to Mel and Jenn by the bike cage between 7:45 and 8:15 Friday morning.

School council will also be organizing staff appreciation coffee and pastries at 11:30 Friday so we will display them in the staff room ready for the teachers’ final meetings before they head home unsure of what Monday will bring!

Don’t forget to send money with your kiddos or pop in during the meet the teacher night tomorrow from 4:30-6:30. The book fair will be open during lunch today and tomorrow, and all day Friday!

We’re looking for volunteers for the June 26th activity day! Please reach out if you’d like to help with the k-9 painting in the morning, k-5 outdoor games in the afternoon, or 6-9 dance!

Following the grade 3 field study today (June 13 @ 15:50) a student left their backpack in the after school meet up spot near the gaga ball pit. After a quick play (16:02) Student went to grab their backpack & it was gone. We’re reaching out to the riverside community to see if anyone accidentally picked the bag or has Information about the missing backpack.

The staff appreciation was a massive success! We made gift bags for all 44 Riverside staff members that included some goodies such as hand sewn heat bags. It took a team of sewers, bakers, florists, sandwich makers, decorators, clean up crew and so much more. Thank you to everyone involved in pulling this off! Staff members were touched and I think they felt the appreciation🥰🥰.

Many Riverside families were thrilled to see these little guys meeting them as they walked into the school today! There was a lot of concern for their wellbeing so after hearing 311 can’t help, our fearless school council co-president, Jennifer Jacoby, walked them from the school, across Edmonton trail and memorial drive, and to the edge of the river where they quickly jumped in for possibly the first time ever! She stopped traffic and waved off predators but it was all worth it❤️❤️
