Woodman Playground Donation Drive

The Woodman School Playground Committee is enthusiastically working to make an obstacle course style playground a reality. An innovative and accessible playground that will be challenging to persons in the 10 - 14 age range. It is meant to be a unique space for tweens/teens to keep up a physically active lifestyle. As children get older, they leave organized sport or no longer have an option to join activities at a recreational level. This space is meant to provide another option for our youth to continue working on balance, coordination, agility, strength, fitness, and having FUN! Not just for kids, adults will be able to enjoy it too.

Woodman School serves students from several SW communities, including: Shawnessy, Somerset, Millrise, Bridlewood, Evergreen, Shawnee, Silverado, Belmont, Yorkville, Chinook Park, Haysboro, Kingsland, Southwood, Woodbine, Woodcreek, Woodlands, Canyon Meadows, Oakridge, Cedarbrae, Palliser, Bayview, Pump Hill, Kelvin Grove, Eagle Ridge, Cranston, Auburn Bay, Mahogany, Braeside, Sirocco, and Pine Creek.

Our ultimate fundraising goal is $180,000 and includes the equipment cost, commercial installation, and Pour in Place rubber surfacing. We are anticipating construction to begin in April 2022. The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner we can begin!

We are at the start of our fundraising journey and for the month of April every dollar donated will be matched, up to $10,000.00!

Do you have family members willing to contribute to the playground for an income tax receipt? Would your employer consider donating? Your generous support - and/or that of your company - would be highlighted in our school newsletter, on our School Council website page and in the community newsletter, the Haysboro Horn.

Grateful for all your generosity and support,

Woodman School Council & Playground Committee
