This picture was taken 4 years ago during a mindfulness exercise that we did in a WilderChild summer camp. Can you remember those endless days of summer from when you were a kid? In our summer camps we don't aim to teach, but to offer experiences and time in nature so that children can develop their own connections with their surroundings.

We made these fuzzy little lovelies today. Oh the things we can make without big mitts on. With every change in the season there are changes in what we do sometimes subtle and sometimes not.

We all know that food brings us together. Over the years I have noticed that snacking together, especially with our preschoolers and kindergarteners, can ease transitions from a parent’s care to a teacher’s care. Some of our favourite snacks are squishes, dried fruit, granola bars or mixes, comforting drinks like tea and hot chocolate. What are some of your favourite snacks to pack?

After a few tastes of spring not everyone is onboard with this everlasting winter. One thing we like to focus on is that we can find cracking ice in this weather! There are so many different types of ice and they are all so engaging. Recommended for ages 6months - 99 years.

New session starting today! It’s a little cold, but tea, fire and some outdoor time will keep us warm. This 10 week class is aimed at giving children a space to unwind in nature halfway through the week. Classes will be oriented mostly around free time, children’s interests and reconnecting to themselves in the woods. If you are interested in registering you can do so through the link in our bio. Thank you for creating such a beautiful poster ❤️
