Hello! Parents !My name is Monica , I am a mother of two. I have a dayhome located in Calgary, AB (between banff trail and university.

Full time and Part time spots are available with flexible hours. We offer a Spanish as a second language class

📍Grassi Lakes Trail, Kananaskis, AB 🇨🇦

(SAVE for future trip planning)

This is a great beginner hiking trail for all levels, especially for families with young kids looking to get out into the mountains!

🚗Just 1 hour and 5 minutes from Calgary
🥾3.5km loop trail.
(The trail forks shortly after starting out. The left hand side offers incredible waterfall views and has some steep sections with stairs. It is slightly more challenging than the other side of the loop, but much more picturesque. The right hand side is a wide gentle gravel path which is stroller friendly but less scenic.)
🏔️178m of elevation gain
⏳Our groups journey was about 3 hours and 15 minutes and that included
lots of breaks for little legs, lunch, and photo ops. If you aren’t traveling with kids 1.5-2hrs is more likely.
❄️Open Year round, although they do close the left hand side of the loop during winter.
⚠️The recent trail improvements have clearly marked a “rockfall danger” area just beyond the lakes (a very popular destination for climbers). @alberta_parks does recommend helmets for anyone passing through the gate. Proceed at your own risk.
‼️Although the water looks tempting on a hot day, please know that swimming in the lakes is prohibited in order to protect this delicate ecosystem.
📅This trail is very popular due to its close proximity to the city and how accessible it is for all levels. If you want to beat the crowds, start early or visit on a weekday.

❔Would you hike here?

✨Please follow all principles of Leave No Trace when visiting our wild spaces. Our great grandchildren deserve to have this experience also. ✨
