Recently, we've been having a tough time dealing with my 3-year-old daughter's anger issues and have been searching for ways to help with our daughter. One of our favourite solutions we recently came across are anger management books made for kids.
It's only been a few weeks but I've started to see some positive effects of reading these anger management books to my daughter!

In heated moments, I have to remind myself that my child doesn't yet know how to deal with her negative feelings and frustrations. She hasn't learned the skills to face problems without allowing her emotions to take over.

As parents, we can help our children gain new perspectives, understand their emotions, and how their emotions and actions are related. Especially combined with healthy examples on how to handle their angry feelings and emotions.

Here's a list of anger management books that we enjoyed aimed to help our kids learn how to self-regulate 💗

Let us know below which books or methods have worked for you!

We believe that one of the most important ways to protect our little ones against any type of abuse (sexual, physical and emotional) is teaching them consent by giving them the power and ability to say "NO".

Your little one's ability to say NO doesn't mean they should say NO to anything and anyone.

It's a two-way street. Not only are they allowed to say NO when it comes to their own body, emotions, or personal space, but they also need to allow others to do the same. Let them know, that if someone tells them NO, they should respect it.

- Roleplay a few scenarios with your child. Let them know when they are allowed to say NO with no explanation. Give them examples and let them make up their own.

- Follow their intuition: Let your child say no to people, activities, or situations that make them uncomfortable. Of course, it’s important to note that this advice does not apply to situations where a child is simply scared to try something new. In such cases, parents should use their judgment and encourage their child to explore new experiences at their own pace.

Parenting is difficult. Teaching your child to say NO isn't about giving them free reign. It's about teaching them to respect and be respectful - protecting themselves while protecting others.

Have you narrowed down your list to the handful of places you feel best about?

🧐 When you first step in the door, give yourself enough time to take in - don't rush. Spend at least an hour to observe the place, and pay careful attention to interactions between adults and children.

If you can, bring your little one and see how the caregivers interact with your child and your little one's reaction to the environment.

As a FTM myself, we brought our daughter to every tour and made decisions based on her reactions to the environment.

Remember, do what makes the most sense to your family. You can always come back for a second visit if you need to.

So how will you know if a daycare is right for you? Here are some RED FLAGS to keep in mind as you tour the daycares.

🚩 Low Adult : High Children Ratio - If there are a lot of children and not many adults, that's a RED FLAG. Does the place make you feel overwhelmed? Too many children running around without any adult eyes on them? Your child might not get the attention they need because there are too many children to attend to.

🚩 The daycare Director gives you a bad vibe - Perhaps they ignore a question, don't seem to have knowledge about the daycare policies or procedures, or even seem sort of okay but give you a bad feeling - TRUST YOUR GUT

🚩 Unsanitary Environment - Take a careful look around the restrooms, toys, the play area, ceiling, and kitchen area. Is the play area safe? Are the restrooms clean? Is there a changing area for babies? Do they have a good air ventilation system?

🚩 Caregiver seems nonchalant - Pay careful attention to the. Do they seem interested in caring for children? Are they ignoring children or seem too harsh or unfriendly? It’s important to see that the caregivers are kind and respectful to the children in their care.

🚩 High employee turnover - Find out when the daycare is established and ask how long the employees have worked there. If none of the employees have been there long, it's a major red flag.

❤️ From a mama who's been there. Yes, I'm a FTM with a Covid baby, and I had to send my daughter to daycare when she was just turning 2 years old😭

😭 The first few weeks were the hardest for both of us. The internal struggle was beyond anything I'd ever experienced before. I doubted my decision of going back to school 🙇‍♀️

⏳ I spent most of my time calling the daycare and watching all the daycare photos. I even cried in the parking lot, because the drop-off can be a traumatic experience for a parent🏡

🌸 But Mama let me tell you that it's completely normal and okay to feel this way. Now looking back years later, it's amazing how my little one thrives in her own little company.

🌈There will be good days and there will be tougher days. But you will see your little one blossom in their own way.
