A Goat on a Boat can Float! We had so much fun creating boats and testing them out!

The kids created a new game catching flying discs at the playground…they had an audience cheering them on!

It was so nice to be back outside that we went to two different playgrounds! We worked on number rhyming and did some rhyme graphing!

We started our Rhyming Unit and Letter Tt this week! We had “Gramma Cheryl” and Sophie join us this afternoon…Cheryl even did carpet time lol!! Looking forward to sunnier days ahead! ☀️

June 2026 Program Plan

Unit 18 (week 1 & 2) - Rhyming Words: Rhyming is an important pre-reading skill called phonological awareness. The focus of these skills is on the ability to hear sounds and rhymes in a word. Unit 20 (week 4) - Kindergarten Graduation: The FINAL unit of Take Flight KinderCare! These children have certainly taken flight over the course of this year and are ready to soar into Grade 1! I am beyond proud of each and every one of them as they grew leaps and bounds from September. I’ve absolutely loved watching the children grow and the friendships blossom! I’m so glad I could be a small part of their journey and I’m so excited for their next chapter…watch out Grade 1!!

June 2026 Calendar

I literally cannot believe it’s June already…where did the time go!!

We’ll be outside lots, just a reminder to put sunscreen and a hat in your child’s backpack. I’ll update the Facebook group with the time and location of playground each day!

We’ll be celebrating kindergarten graduation on Monday June 29! We’ll have pizza and ice cream here and go bowling at the Banquet from 1-3!!

If the weather cooperates, we’ll go to the Prestwick Fountain Park some water fun on Friday June 26.

What a great day to end the week! We went to two playgrounds and the library where we got to watch some hockey at the arena! Lots of free play!! Have a wonderful rainy weekend!

We sure had fun watching the fish get put in the lake…the kids had LOTS of questions for the staff! We finished off our health unit with a cleaning sound review!! Only two letters left!!

Over the last two days we used a graph to classify foods into food groups and we made a “how to wash your hands” booklet! We also went on a letter Pp hunt and did a roll the dice to exercise game. We had lots of outside time and even more free play inside!!

We did some sorting activities with the food groups and healthy vs not so healthy food choices. We played at the playground after school pick up and were in the backyard almost all afternoon!
