Simple reminder:
Know your worth and stop giving people discounts.
Sometimes we rely on others to validate us; to confirm back to us what we think/feel/do/be/believe is right, acceptable or a good idea. We seek a “permission slip” from an external source fir confirmation that we are on the “right”path. Whether it be seeking validation for our knowledge and experience, our ideas, our passions and the like, we practice our reliance on that outside source for approval. Eventually, we can get muddled up on what is true for ourselves when we keep living what is true for others.
This can show up in the form of:
• feelings of worthiness / unworthiness
• the desire or need to be accepted
• self-doubt
• self-justification to keep your potential small to make other people feel better/more comfortable about where they’re at in life/what they’ve accomplished or not
• ignoring your unique skills and abilities and only promoting things seen as “normal”
• giving away your time, energy and sometimes even money because others in seen in a state of lack
• being self-deprecating
• viewing others as more capable, more deserving, more experienced...
Let’s change this pattern and begin to practice using our inner compass, and accept that we know what is best for us. It’s time to stop giving people discounts. Your are worthy to be fairly compensated for your time, energy, knowledge, wisdom, space and attention. Remember that.
