Welcome Matteo! 🎉 Please join us in welcoming Matteo Fleischmann to the coaching team!
Matteo Fleischmann first started skiing at two years old in his home country of Austria, and his passion for the sport quickly became a defining part of his life. His athletic development took him to the Michaela Dorfmeister Ski Secondary School, followed by the Waidhofen an der Ybbs Training Center.
During his active career as a competitive alpine skier, Matteo was part of the Lower Austrian State Team before joining the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) Future Team. In 2020, he ended his competitive skiing career and began an exciting new chapter as a guide for Johannes Aigner, a Para-Alpine World Cup athlete. Together, they celebrated numerous World Cup victories, five Paralympic medals, World Championship titles, and Overall World Cup victories. This experience shaped Matteo not only as a coach and sports professional, but also as a person.
For the past three years, Matteo has worked with the Austrian Ski Federation as a Ski Cross Head Coach, serving as Youth FIS Head Coach and Head of Youth Development. One of the highlights of his coaching career was leading the Austrian Junior Team to the Youth Olympic Games in Korea, where the team returned home with a silver medal.
Today, Matteo combines his experience as a former athlete with his passion for coaching and developing young talent. His goal is to inspire athletes, help them reach their full potential, and pass on the passion for skiing that has shaped his own journey.
