Resilient Inuk and her husband Derek are hitting the road for a cross country RV tour to raise awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP). This journey is about honoring lives, creating space for healing, and bringing awareness to communities across the country.
This hands-on workshop is a powerful way to raise awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S) through traditional materials, conversation, and community connection. Led by Vanessa Brousseau, a proud Inuk woman and family member of a missing loved one, participants will create their own red dress pins using sealskin — a material rich in cultural significance. As each dress is cut and shaped, Vanessa shares her personal story, the meaning behind the red dress symbol, and the ongoing impact of MMIWG2S on families across the country.

💔 With heavy hearts, we share the passing of a beloved member of our drum and broader community, Annette McCullough of Calgary, AB. Annette passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 75. She made her transition surrounded by love, with her husband of 53 years, Edward “Ed” McCullough, and their sons, Josh and Jonathan, by her side.
Annette will be remembered not only for her professional legacy but for her kindness, insight, and the deep connections she nurtured across communities.
Her sister has reached out to let us know that a Celebration of Life is being planned for Sunday, May 4th in Bragg Creek. If you would like to attend, please reach out to me and I’ll be happy to connect you with her.
Rest well, Annette. You will be deeply missed.
