When calculating for a patientโ€™s prescription, a great way to do it is to break it down into steps:

80 lb x 5 mg/lb = 400 mg

๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ ๐Ÿ: Calculate the number of tablets daily
1 tab = 400 mg, and this is what he needs per dose.
BID = 2x per day
1 tab x 2 = 2 tabs per day

This patient would require 2 tablets a day.

There is some information in this question that is irrelevant, being 7 days, as they are only asking how many tablets are required a day, not how many tablets are required total.

Another good thing to notice is that the patients weight is in lbs, and the concertation of the drug is also in lbs, so there is no need to convert to kg.
