Creative Learning in Action!

Our preschool and Grade 1 children explored creativity using scissors, colourful markers, glue, and flyers. They cut, glued, and decorated their circle drawings to create fun faces while developing fine-motor skills, creativity, hand-eye coordination, and confidence through hands-on learning. ❤️

Today’s Adventure: City Mobile Story Truck Field Trip!

Today our children had an exciting field trip to our city's Mobile Story Truck!

They enjoyed an interactive storytime led by the library staff, explored wonderful books and actively participated in fun literacy activities. It was heartwarming to see their curiosity, imagination and love for reading grow with every page. Experiences like these help build lifelong readers while making learning fun!

Story Truck Shares Exciting Canada Day Celebration News!

Yesterday during our Story Truck visit, our wonderful library staff shared information about an exciting upcoming community event that we wanted to pass along to all our dayhome families.

Join the Canada Day Celebrations on July 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Prairie Winds Park. This family friendly event brings together communities from across Calgary to celebrate Canada with fun activities, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors.

✨ A Mandala of Memories and Learning ✨

Yesterday I created a mandala using loose parts and as I carefully arranged each piece it reminded me of my childhood collecting treasures from nature, creating patterns and finding joy in simple materials.
This experience helped me reflect on how children learn. The same materials can inspire new ideas, creativity, problem solving and imagination every time they are explored. What may look like a simple activity is actually rich with learning opportunities.
Sometimes the most meaningful learning comes from open ended experiences that spark curiosity, creativity and connection to our memories.
