A pleasant early surprise. I don't normally worry about hockey until the cfl year is done. But the stamps are doing quite poorly this year so I have looked in on the two games so far and I'm pleasantly surprised by how hard working they are. We will be tough to play against every night.... And honestly, win or lose, that is the way to a true Flames fans' heart!

So sad to hear that Buck Shot has passed away. Mr. Barge was a huge part of my Calgarian upbringing!

Today Lesa and had a date to celebrate our 7th anniversary. We enjoyed Open Farm Days in Alberta. We went to a greenhouse, explored a homestead and saw a working wool mill. It was an amazing day and now we have a fond of farm fresh veggies!What a great way to spend the day with each other!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a wonderful time with Lesa chasing down the best birthday deals. Free breakfast at Denny's, free bevie at Starbucks (while shopping for summer books to read), free nachos at Banquet and a free dessert at the Adult Theatre (where we watched Inside Out 2 in a child free environment). Thanks for sharing a wonderful day with me my love, it was perfect!

An emotional day.

Saying goodbye to some great kids that are off to high school, saying farewell to my own grade 7 kiddos. So many kids took the time to tell me about the difference that I have made in their lives. So many cards and emails.

And also, thinking about how more of my career is behind me than in front of me. So strange to think that I may only have two or three homeroom classes left before I retire. Teaching is not a job. It is a calling and days like today fill my bucket so full that I know that I am doing exactly what I am meant to be doing.
