The Community Kitchen is a place where people come to connect with others, gain cooking skills and grow personally, building a stronger community.

The Community Kitchen is an initiative of the Airdrie Food Bank. It was created to move us from emergency support only to providing skill building programs and build support networks. The facility is used for client classes, community classes as well as rentals and corporate events. Classes and workshops span a variety of topics and are being updated on an ongoing basis. AUFC is proud to announce our first Community Kitchen Event at the Airdrie Food Bank, Wednesday April 24, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Learn how to make the most out of pumpkins, attendees will make and take home pumpkin bread and pumpkin soup. There is a $5 registration fee with also include an AUFC membership. Final day to sign up is Wednesday, April 17.

🍲It's soup season! Join us in the kitchen for "Super Soups" Wednesday November 1st 6:30PM-8:00PM. We will be making chicken soup & vegetarian borscht.

October is Circular Economy Month!

Join us on Thursday October 27th to learn some flexible recipes and how to reduce food waste in partnership with The City of Airdrie Participants will receive a free "kitchen catcher"!

This is an in-person/onsite workshop and requires a minimum of four participants to run.

It’s circular economy month and a principle of the circular economy is buying products without packaging.
▶️ Reduce waste by bringing your own container, mug, cutlery, straw and shopping bag when you shop.
▶️ Refuse packaging you don’t need (straw, napkins, flyers, bags etc.).
▶️ Buy fruits and vegetables without packaging.
