I am pleased to share with you the latest finished painting by my student, Debbie Kirkham!
She has been working hard to develop a more flowing style of impressionistic brushwork and she's done a lovely job!
This one has been growing slowly over the weeks. I'm trying to capture the sun-dappled look that nature gifted me through my window onto this canvas a few days ago.

In all honesty I've nearly given up on this painting a couple of times. I work on it, lose confidence, then take a break and when I see it again I like it again. it's so back and forth...
Today brought more shadows into the waves of my wine-dark sea. The motion of the waves in the ocean is starting to come to life.
I'm so thankful for the opportunity to paint this at the Airdrie Public Library

I have great news!
My classes will be held on Saturdays from 1-3pm in the Qualico Communities Create Space 1, at the Airdrie Library - Starting on Saturday, September 19!

I fell in love with the way the sunlight hit my current painting this afternoon. It dappled through the tree that grows in front of my window and I was *enchanted*. ... I may need to add that kind of light into the painting just to honour the magic of that moment...
