🌈 Rainbow Fun Today! 🌈
Today, we worked on our sorting skills by creating beautiful rainbow art! The kiddos carefully sorted Fruit Loops by color and glued them onto their rainbows, matching each color to its proper spot.
Sorting activities like this help build early math skills, color recognition, and critical thinking as they learn how to group & classify objects and work together as a team!
To finish it off, we added fluffy “clouds” using Styrofoam peanuts. They really made our rainbows pop right off the page! ☁️✨
Such a fun (and hands on!) way to learn through play!

🍀 Lucky Learners! 🍀
Today, we made the most adorable St. Patrick’s Day art!
We started by talking about what lucky means and what might make us feel lucky.
We created shamrocks by gluing on green and gold paper squares to our papers. When everyone was finished, I asked them what made them lucky. Their answers absolutely melted my heart! 💚
"I have a Mom and Dad"
“I have a sister”
“I have a Mommy and Daddy”
“I have a doggy”
It’s the simple things that mean the most!
I love seeing their creativity grow and hearing what makes them feel special and loved. 🍀

🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Fine Motor Fun! 🍀
Today, we made the sweetest little shamrock necklaces! 💚
Everyone practiced their fine motor skills by stringing Fruit Loops, straw beads, and shamrocks onto their strings. There was so much concentration, pattern-making, and proud smiles! 🌈✨
Our littlest friend used a pipe cleaner, which made it easier for tiny hands to thread the cereal and they did so amazing! 👏💚
Hands on activities like this help strengthen little fingers while encouraging creativity and independence.
Plus… snackable crafting is always a win! 😄

Our Valentine's bags are ready! We had so much fun decorating them and talking about who we love!

Who'd have guessed that it would be 17°C on February 5th!
We took full advantage and had snack outside (home made banana chocolate chip muffins, goldfish crackers, pepper rings and cucumbers!) and played icy heart rescue!

We played with Valentine's cloud dough today! (It's supposed to be purple.. the food coloring didn't want to color today 🤷♀️)
We squished, squashed, crumbled and scooped, finding red gems and hearts along the way! ❤️
"It's soft!"
"Squish!!!"

Can you guess what we started talking about today? ❤️💜

Sorry we've been quiet over here lately! But that doesn't mean the learning has stopped! Here's a few highlights from January!

What a magical day at day home! Santa and Mrs. Claus surprised us while we were getting ready for a dance party! Santa even brought a special puzzle for each child. Smiles all around!
And a special thank you to one of our parents who was there to capture every magical moment! More pictures to come soon! 🎄🤶🎅

This morning we made Magic Reindeer Food! 🦌✨
We practiced scooping oats with measuring cups, pouring them into bags, and adding a pinch of magical sprinkles. On Christmas Eve, this special mix will be sprinkled outside to help guide Santa’s reindeer on their flight. Such a fun way to mix holiday magic with hands-on learning!

Cinnamon Play Dough Fun!
Today, our room smelled amazing as we played with homemade cinnamon play dough and gingerbread cookie cutters. 🤎🍪
This simple activity is packed with learning!
Fine motor practice as little hands roll, press, cut, and shape. Sensory exploration with warm holiday scents and textures. Exploring creativity and imagination as the kids “baked” their gingerbread creations. And language development as we chatted about shapes, smells, sizes, and pretend baking!
It was the perfect festive mix of learning, sensory play, and holiday magic! 🎄✨

✨Torn Paper Ornaments! ✨
Today, we created our own Christmas ornaments using torn paper, and the kids had so much fun! 🎄💛
We had the option to cut or tear paper to decorate our ornaments! Tearing paper is a fantastic fine motor workout, it strengthens little fingers, builds hand-eye coordination, and helps develop the muscles they’ll use for writing later on. Plus, it gives them a chance to explore colours, textures, and creativity in a big way! 🎨
Our art board is looking extra festive thanks to their hard work. ❤️
🎅🏼 ‘Tis the season for learning through play!
