My amazing Senior Concert Band will be performing at 3pm (Toronto Time) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. That’s 1pm for everyone back home in Alberta! Tune in if you are so inclined! Nationals Baby!

95lbs of Food and $100 cash donated to Airdrie Food Bank from our October 30th Concert! Looking to double that for Christmas!

CONCERT ALERT ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30th, 2024 beginning at 6:30pm WHERE: Bert Church Theatre. Please bring non-perishable food items for the Airdrie Food Bank! This concert will feature our Drumline, Grade 9 Band, Large Jazz Ensemble, and our Senior Concert Band! We are dressing up, and the band has voted for me to be a “Woodland Fairy” this year…no bacon! We will also have a 50/50 raffle, a concession (everything is $2) and be selling any remaining WestJet Raffle Tickets ($20 each). Hope to see you there!

I would like to invite you to a meeting in the BCHS Music Room on Wednesday, September 18th at 7pm. Topics being discussed and Information Presented will cover the following items:
-Performance Dates Already Planned…and potential opportunities.
-Fundraising Ideas for the school year that will help us reach our goal of attending ‘Nationals in Toronto in May 2025’. Some have already been set-in-motion but there is always room for more.
-Music Parent Group. I have a ‘President’ of the group who stepped forward 2 years ago and has been working diligently in front of, and behind, the scenes to work for the program’s growth and student opportunities. I will introduce him again this evening, as now we really need some more folks to help share the load of organizing crews to help with events.
-Information about our PLANNED Tour for this year (NATIONALS IN TORONTO May 11 – 15, 2025) and future years…it is always nice to plan.
Any other items, or questions that need addressing.

I look forward to seeing as many as can make it. There are a lot and I understand that not everyone is available, so I will do my best to provide a summary of the evening in ANOTHER email (likely the morning after) that will provide the points covered.

First pic was yesterday with just Grade 9’s and I am blessed with a wonderful group of 30 Band 9 Kids! Second pic is this morning for a full day with everybody! The Senior Band is 80 (and counting), and General Music class has a nice spread of 30 kids across the levels. Semester 1 is going to be a fun time!

Beginning my 18th year! Today I have found 2 of the 200 PLASTIC GUMMIE BEARS that my seniors hid around my room last June! They were a great group of kids and I'm excited for what the future holds for them and what this year will bring for us!

Great News! I finally figured out how to get onto the school’s YouTube account and I’m uploading videos from Swing City 2023 & 2024! These should be available for viewing by Monday, August 12, 2024! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

Here we are, 10 Days post-op, and the swelling is still going down. 4 holes in the knee, and I’m grateful that there are not more, and that the surgeon didn’t have to open up the big lines he drew to ‘brace’ my MCL. That issue had resolved itself. Continuing to rest, and ice, and hobble. Baby-steps! Follow-up appointment with the Surgeon July 16th. Woohoo!
