We are very excited to invite you to an important evening with Paul Davis, an engaging and knowledgeable speaker who helps parents and caregivers better understand the social media and online world our children are navigating.
We strongly encourage you to attend if you are able. Technology and social media are a huge part of our children’s lives, and the online world can be difficult for adults to keep up with. Paul does an incredible job of helping families understand what our kids are experiencing online and, most importantly, how we can help keep them safe.
This is a particularly important conversation for our school community. We have seen some challenging situations involving online communication and social media, and we believe that the more informed and connected we are as adults, the better we can support our children.
Paul will provide practical information and strategies that you can take home and use right away. You do not need to be an expert in technology, this evening is designed to help all of us feel more confident navigating this part of our children’s lives.

We would really love to see you there.
Please see the attached poster for all of the details and registration information.

Thank you for partnering with us to help keep our children safe, both at school and online. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity!

🧡 Truth and Reconciliation Week at École Edwards

Last week, our school community took time to learn, listen, reflect, and think about how we can continue walking the path of truth and reconciliation together.

We began the week with a Truth and Reconciliation Week video assembly created by our administration team. Throughout the week, classrooms continued the learning through a variety of activities and conversations, including sharing circles, land acknowledgements, time for reflection on the land, Indigenous stories and literature, and opportunities to explore Indigenous artifacts.

Across the school, students traced and decorated their own shoe prints as part of our school-wide Walking Forward activity. Each student completed the sentence, “I am walking the path forward with…” choosing a word or idea that represents how they can contribute to a more caring and respectful community, words such as kindness, truth, compassion, empathy, and love.

Together, these steps now create a visual reminder throughout our school that reconciliation is a path we walk together, through learning, listening, remembering, and choosing how we move forward.

We remember. We learn. We walk forward together. 🧡

October 2 is Custodial Appreciation Day, and we’re giving a huge thanks to the hardworking custodial staff who keep École Edwards clean, safe and welcoming!
Behind every busy entrance, bustling hallway, creative classroom, lively gymnasium and everywhere in between, custodians are clearing the way for learning, working and fun. We count on them to keep an eye out for issues, and lend a hand wherever needed.

Thank you custodial team! Your hard work shines every day!

As we welcome fall, the autumnal equinox reminds us of the balance that surrounds us. For many Indigenous Peoples, it is a time to honour traditions, express gratitude and recognize generations of knowledge and connection to the land.
