Looking forward to another week of sliding on the ice, biking, probably playing in the snow, jumping in puddles, and colouring with chalk in T-shirts 🤣

I love watching artistic talent develop 💗
Cephalopod👇🏽
Did you know that this type of drawing is called a cephalopod - a child’s first human representation when it comes to drawing people.
Notice the head is the main focus is the face, with the arms and legs coming from the head !
Children have moved from random lines and lots of movement (what is often described a scribble ) to a representation of someone who important to them! ❤️
Let them draw, let them create.
Let their stages of art, drawing ( scribble) be the keepsakes, that as parents, carers and grandparents we cherish as the years pass by. 🙌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Respect the process, respect childhoods instead of using their hands or feet as printing presses to make into cute art work.
Here in this drawing is me grandma
(“the big squishy one”) 😂
and my grandee is the little one
, “sad, cus I got a cut on my knee”
This Mother’s Day picture drawn for me (Stephanie ) today. ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely words from author Margaret Atwood to celebrate the first day of spring: “In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.”
To celebrate the arrival of spring, we've featured 35 of our favorite girl-empowering books about springtime and gardening in our blog post, "Mighty Girl Books Celebrating Springtime & Gardening" at https://www.amightygirl.com/blog?p=11501
Since playing in the dirt isn't limited to kids, we recommend the "You're Never Too Old to Play in the Dirt" T-shirt for adult women at https://www.amightygirl.com/never-too-old-to-play-in-dirt-shirt
For two fun books about Mighty Girls who love to dig in the dirt, we recommend "My Garden" for ages 3 to 6 (https://www.amightygirl.com/my-garden) and "How Does My Garden Grow?" (https://www.amightygirl.com/how-does-my-garden-grow)
For books for young readers about the importance of protecting the natural world, visit our special feature on "Top Children's Books on the Environment" at https://www.amightygirl.com/mighty-girl-picks/top-children-s-books-on-the-environment
And, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere and recently welcomed the arrival of autumn, you can find seasonal fall books in our post, "Harvest Time! Fabulous Fall Mighty Girl Books" at https://www.amightygirl.com/blog?p=13023
