Today on World Cerebral Palsy Day, HLS celebrates the strength, resilience, talents, and unique contributions of individuals living with cerebral palsy. It is a day to recognize the importance of creating communities where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered to reach their full potential.

This day holds a special place in our hearts as we remember Bronson, a student who enriched our school community. Through Bronson, we gained a deeper understanding of cerebral palsy, but even more importantly, he showed us the power of kindness, resilience, inclusion, acceptance, and what it truly means to belong. His influence continues to resonate throughout our hallways, classrooms, and hearts. Bronson's legacy of compassion, connection, and belonging remains a lasting source of inspiration for our entire school community. 💚

On September 29, our HLS students and staff came together to wear orange shirts in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation. Wearing orange reminds us that Every Child Matters and helps us honour the experiences of Indigenous children and families.
As a school community, we are committed to continuing our journey of truth and reconciliation by building meaningful relationships, fostering respect, and incorporating Indigenous ways of knowing and learning into our classrooms. 🧡
