If your child is in Grade 4–Year 12 and has not yet completed the survey, there is still time to have their say.
The survey provides valuable feedback about students' learning, wellbeing and school experience.
To participate, ask your child to access the survey using the link and login details provided via ‘2026 AtoSS’ email that included their unique survey student ID and log-in information. (These are different to VSV log-in credentials.)
Thank you to the many students who have already participated. Every response helps us better understand and support the needs of our students.

While Education Week (May 18-22) may have passed, the stories that shape our school community remain just as important.

The edition also celebrated what makes our school unique, exploring how our values shape teaching, learning and wellbeing every day.

Student voice is an important part of how we continue to improve our school.
Students in Grade 4 – Year 12 are currently invited to take part in the Attitudes to School Survey, which gives them the opportunity to share their views about their learning, wellbeing and school experience.
The feedback students provide helps inform school planning, improve learning experiences, and ensure we continue to meet the needs of our students.
We encourage families of our community to support their child to take part in the survey and share their experiences.

As we look ahead to Education Week, we’re proud to celebrate the breadth of opportunity available to students at our school.
With 99 VCE subjects on offer — the highest number available at any school in the state — students can shape a senior secondary program that reflects their interests and aspirations.
But choice is only part of the story. At Senior School level, success does not look the same for every student. For some, it’s a clear pathway to university. For others, it may lead to vocational training, employment, or a different kind of learning journey that better reflects their goals as they prepare for adulthood.
Supporting these diverse pathways is central to VSV. Our Careers Team works closely with students to explore options, plan next steps, and build confidence about what comes after school.
We celebrate the many ways students define success, and the people who help them get there.
‘Not all about chasing ATARs’: VCE subjects show a clear public-private divide
A new analysis of enrolment data by this masthead reveals not only a gap in the number of courses on offer, but the subjects themselves.

When you’re part of an online school, creating opportunities to connect really matters.
While many of our families know and love VSV’s in-person Connect Days and Connect Weeks, there are also regular opportunities for students to come together online in ways that are relaxed, creative and fun.
Our VSV Clubs are low-pressure, teacher-facilitated spaces where students can connect through shared interests, try something new and build confidence outside the usual expectations of the classroom.
And already in 2026, our Secondary Art Club is proving a real hit. Meeting each Thursday, students respond to a creative prompt — sketching, painting, drawing or creating their own mini masterpiece alongside their peers.
It’s just one example of how the small moments of connection — the little wins — can make a big difference.

Creativity takes courage — especially in an online learning environment. Through performance, visual expression and creative exploration, our students are building confidence, finding their voice and sharing their ideas with others.
From early creative risks to the recognition of VCE Arts excellence, the Creative Arts remain a powerful thread connecting students across our community.
Behind every performance, exhibition and piece of creative work is the thoughtful guidance of teachers who believe in the value of artistic expression and the confidence it builds in young people.
