Why start a kids woodworking workshop?

WHY NOT?? We couldn't find the kind of workshop we wanted for our own kids, so we started one. 😌 🪵

June was a lot.🪵

School holidays fully booked.
Adult & Child sessions fully booked.
Sundays filling faster than we expected.
Enquiries we're still catching up on.

A boy told his mum the worst part of his day was her arriving to pick him up.

Five months into this thing we started.

We wrapped up our first full term programme this month.
A group of kids who didn't know each other in April, now have banter, in-jokes, and real friendships.

We don't have all the answers - and figuring things out alongside the kids has been one of the best parts of this for us.

We started this thinking it would be good for kids.
Didn't expect it to be this good for us too.

That's why we do this.

Most activities with your kid feel like chores. You get there. You watch. You get home. 😐

Not ours! 😏

This mum came back for her second session. She uses her chopping board every day. Her son's pieces? Too special to touch.

Everything we make at Ask & Embla is meant to be used. But if the kid says otherwise, who are we to argue. 🤷‍♀️

We run these Adult & Child sessions occasionally. Our next two are fully booked.. so comment below or DM us to be added to the list. 🪵
