Today we celebrate International Midwives Day.
Sending our love, respect and sincere gratitude to all Midwives across the globe.
Today we also honour our amazing doula graduates who over the years have chosen to take the leap and undertake the Midwifery degree.
You are champions!
To my beloved friends who are Midwives (you know who you are) I couldn't love and honour all you do anymore than I hope I have shown over the years. You are all bloody incredible women to me and I am so proud of the difference you are making in the spaces you have chosen to work.
Midwives and doulas can work together positively and respectfully to create better birth experiences for expectant parents. We can and we should be standing side by side to fight against the patriarchy that is the gate keeper of our birthing rites.
Cheers to Midwives!
Cheers to working together for change!

Every time I return to Galiwin'ku I am reminded of my privileged life and the ongoing colonisation and pain of First Nations people.
The incredible love, kindness and learnings I receive from my Yolngu family and kinship is beyond anything I could have ever imagined.
Proudly partnered for 8 years now with CDU's Molly Wardaguga Research Institute, the local women and now the Djakamirr CoOp I can honestly say, this time in my career is filing my cup in ways I had never imagined.
These are some imagines from my most recent visit.
Excited to announce the second instalment of the Djakamirr Project documentary is due for its premiere in June. So stay tuned!
