This National Reconciliation Week, the Australian Institute of CPD Standards (AIcpdS) was proud to attend the South Australian Reconciliation Breakfast, joining over three thousand others committed to strengthening relationships, respect, and opportunities between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians.

This year's theme, "All In", reminds us that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment that requires all of us to contribute through our actions, leadership, and willingness to listen and learn.

We were privileged to hear inspiring reflections from former AFL champion and respected cultural leader Eddie Betts, whose powerful message highlighted the importance of understanding, inclusion, and creating pathways for future generations. The moving performance by Casey Donovan was a reminder of the strength, resilience, and richness of First Nations cultures and stories.

At AIcpdS, we recognise that meaningful reconciliation requires more than words. It calls on all sectors, leaders, and lifelong learners to work together to create culturally safe, equitable, and inclusive environments that improve outcomes for all Australians.

Reconciliation is strongest when we are all in.

To every nurse working across hospitals, aged care, community health, mental health, emergency services, and beyond - a huge thank you to the difference you make every single day. Your commitment, empathy, and expertise inspire us all.
Today we honour your contribution and celebrate the vital role nurses play in shaping healthier futures worldwide. 💙

Every clinical decision a doctor makes is, in some way, an anatomy decision.

Knowing where structures lie, how they relate to one another, and how they vary between patients is not a niche surgical skill. It is the foundation of safe, confident clinical practice across every specialty.

Pictured is Zac, AIcpdS's 2025 International Anatomy Award recipient, scrubbed in and assisting in theatre during his placement at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.

That opportunity, and everything that led to it, began with a single application.

The 2026 International Anatomy Award gives one exceptional Australian medical student the opportunity to deepen that foundation at the Human Anatomy Centre, University of Cambridge, UK, one of the world's foremost institutions for anatomical education.

The program is proudly supported by Miga, who have been protecting Australia's doctors, and supporting their education for over 125 years.
Applications open 1 May 2026.
