Capoeira Angola ECAMAR – December Class Schedule

For the Redfern location, the final class for the year will be on Thursday, December 19th, with classes resuming on January 14th.

For the Curl Curl location, the last class of the year will take place on Wednesday, December 18th, with classes restarting on January 8th. Class fees for single sessions will remain unchanged.

We are also pleased to announce the final roda of 2024, which will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at the Curl Curl Sports Centre, located at 240 Abbott Road. The roda will start at 11:00 AM, with venue access available from 10:30 AM. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to assist with setup.

After the roda, we will celebrate with a Brazilian BBQ, followed by an optional swim at Curl Curl Beach.

It emphasizes rhythm, flowing movements, and improvisation, usually accompanied by traditional music played on instruments like the berimbau, atabaque, and pandeiro. Capoeira Angola is not only a physical activity but also a cultural expression, embodying elements of dance, music, and spirituality. It fosters community, discipline, and respect among practitioners, known as capoeiristas.
