🐔💚 Welcome to the Fern Gully Family, Hay Hay and Max! 💚🐔

This week, our children and families had the exciting opportunity to help name our newest feathered family members. We received so many wonderful suggestions, and after collecting all of the names, we drew two lucky winners out of a hat — introducing Hay Hay and Max!

At Fern Gully Child Care Centre, we value the important role that families play in our community. Providing opportunities for children and their families to be involved in centre decisions helps create a strong sense of belonging, connection, and ownership within our learning environment.

The children have already loved getting to know our new chickens, and we can’t wait to watch the special bonds that develop as they help care for and learn alongside them. Experiences like these encourage responsibility, empathy, and a deeper connection to the natural world.

A big thank you to everyone who submitted a name suggestion. We are so excited to officially welcome Hay Hay and Max to the Fern Gully family! 🐓✨

✨ Yesterday we welcomed Healthy Harold to FernGully Child Care Centre! 🦒💛

Our visit focused on understanding and talking about feelings. Harold shared a story about feeling nervous and scared to go to school, helping the children explore emotions in a safe and supportive way.

Together, everyone joined in breathing exercises to help calm their bodies and focus on their feelings 🌿💨

The children were so engaged throughout the session, asking lots of thoughtful questions and eagerly sharing their own ideas and experiences. We loved seeing their curiosity, empathy and confidence shine!
