Congratulations to TAFE NSW Hornsby student Charlie Nichols on having this image selected for exhibition in the Heart of TAFE Photography Competition at TAFE NSW Ultimo.

Chosen from a large field of entries from across New South Wales, this photograph was recognised for its quality and creative storytelling and was exhibited alongside other outstanding student work.

Captured during a Screen and Media shoot, the image reflects the skill, dedication and creative vision our students bring to their practice every day.

We're incredibly proud to see our students' work showcased on such a significant platform and congratulate him on this fantastic achievement.

A creative start to Semester 2!

We kicked off the semester with an engaging orientation workshop for our new Cert III and Cert IV Design students. To break the ice and get those creative juices flowing, students explored the intricate world of Zentangle art, choosing from a variety of mediums to make their designs uniquely their own.

From vibrant watercolours and bold markers to soft pastels and detailed pencil work, each student brought their creativity and personal style to the challenge. The result was a fantastic collection of patterns, colour, and expression that showcased the diverse talents joining our design community this semester.

We can't wait to see where their creative journey takes them over the coming months. Welcome to Semester 2!

From sketchbook to storefront!

Our Cert III Design Fundamentals class is kicking off a mural design project with a close look at nature's artwork, sketching fruits and vegetables to explore shape, texture, and colour.

These drawings are just the beginning. Students will soon transform their concepts into a mural design for a fruit and veg store, creating artwork that celebrates fresh produce and brings personality to a community space.

Celebrating Creative Achievement at Hornsby Design.

Congratulations to our talented Graphic Design student Philip Gu, who has been awarded 2nd Place in the Graphic Design category of the TAFE NSW Digital Design Prize.

Philip's outstanding project demonstrates a strong commitment to the design process, combining creativity, technical skill, and thoughtful problem-solving. Through extensive research, concept development, and design refinement, he produced a body of work that stood out among entries from across the state.

We are incredibly proud of this wonderful achievement and delighted to see Philip's talent recognised on a state-wide stage. We look forward to following his continued growth and success within the creative industries.
