Our school vision is to empower young learners to develop the knowledge and skills, curiosity and creativity that enable them to have positive impacts on our community and our world. Ashbury Public School has been serving the community since 1928 and today continues its long-standing tradition of providing an excellent academic grounding whilst offering all children a vast range of opportunities to develop their own strengths and interests. The school is nestled amongst the native trees in a quiet residential area between Ashfield and Canterbury. The school caters for 360 students with 40% of students from language backgrounds other than English. Ashbury Public School's student wellbeing program is informed by the Positive Behaviour for Learning Framework and Restorative Practices. The school offers a balanced curriculum and extra-curricular activities in the academic, creative arts and sporting domains. Students have the option of being involved in up to eight bands and music ensembles and a range of sporting teams. In addition to a staff of experienced and highly committed classroom teachers, the school employs specialist teachers in literacy and numeracy, music, physical education and learning and support teachers. Parents and carers are actively involved in all areas of the school and the students at Ashbury benefit from the collective expertise of their community. The school's active P&C works collaboratively with school staff to support learning opportunities and coordinate fundraising and community events. There’s something pretty cool about a whole school speaking the same language when it comes to wellbeing.

When children hear the same messages and use the same tools from Kindy right through to Year 6, wellbeing becomes more than a lesson, it becomes part of the culture.

Today, 22 of our amazing Stage 3 students, split into three teams, are taking on the challenge of Write a Book in a Day - creating, writing and bringing an entire book to life in less than 12 hours! ⏰✍️📖

We are SO proud of them! 💙 Their creativity is flowing, their imaginations are working overtime, and it has been wonderful watching their ideas coming together.

However, this challenge is about more than just writing a book. The students are working together to raise much-needed funds for kids’ cancer research and support, helping make a difference for children and families facing cancer.

What an amazing achievement - 22 young authors and illustrators, 12 hours, countless ideas, and one very important cause! 🌟

🏆🎶 TRIPLE GOLD at ASBOF! 🎶🏆

What a fantastic month for our Ashbury Public School bands!

Earlier this month, our Concert Band took to the stage at the Australian School Band and Orchestra Festival and brought home Gold!

Today, our Training Band and Intermediate Band followed suit, both delivering fantastic performances and earning Gold!

That makes it THREE BANDS. THREE GOLD AWARDS. 💛💛💛

A huge congratulations to every one of our incredible musicians. These results are a wonderful reflection of the hard work, dedication and passion they bring to rehearsals and performances.

A very special thank you to our conductor, Mr Jason Isaac, for his leadership, expertise and dedication; to our teacher liaison, Mrs Kaye, for her wonderful support; and, of course, to our wonderful band families for everything they do behind the scenes. 💙

It truly takes a team to make moments like these possible, and we are so proud of our entire band community.

💃🕺 What a wonderful night of Dance Sport! 🕺💃

We are so incredibly proud of our Year 5 Dance Sport Gala students, who shone brightly on Tuesday evening! ✨

A very special congratulations to Beibhinn and Gianveer, who were selected as Top 10 finalists in the Jive! What an amazing achievement! 👏🏆

We are so proud of all of our students who took part. Their confidence, enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to step outside their comfort zones made us incredibly proud.

The Dance Sport Gala is such a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop new skills, build confidence and experience the joy of performing - and our Year 5 students certainly made the most of it!

Well done, Year 5! You represented our school beautifully, and we couldn’t be prouder! 🌟
