Rough and Tumble 2026 π§ π€ΈββοΈ
At our Rough and Tumble 2026 event, we explored the powerful connection between rough and tumble play and early brain development, with a strong focus on the unique role fathers play in supporting childrenβs learning, regulation and emotional wellbeing.
Grounded in neuroscience, the session unpacked how experiences in the early years actively shape the brain, and how high quality rough and tumble play, when it is playful, responsive and well regulated, supports children to manage big feelings, develop self regulation and build confidence.
We also challenged common myths around rough and tumble play and aggression, highlighting how safe, attuned physical play helps children learn to read emotional cues, stay within healthy limits and stretch just beyond their comfort zone without feeling overwhelmed.
The key message was clear: play is learning. Through rough and tumble play, children strengthen the brain foundations that support wellbeing, relationships and lifelong learning!

π± Our preschool children have been exploring the natural world with growing curiosity.
Recently, they have been noticing different flowers and insects in our outdoor space and learning how to care for the plants around them. With guidance from our educators, the children went on small discovery walks around the playground, sharing their ideas about what they found. ππΏ
π§οΈ On rainy days, they observed the rain from inside and talked about how water helps plants grow. We also collected rainwater together and measured how much we gathered, supporting early science and sustainability learning in a hands on way.

Our children spent the week celebrating Lunar New Year through handsβon experiences that helped them connect with culture and community. They loved making dumplings with our wonderful parent volunteers and exploring ingredients in both English and Mandarin. π₯
We were also lucky to welcome a grandparent who shared the art of Chinese calligraphy. The children were absorbed in watching each brush stroke and talking about the meaning of the characters.
Thank you to all our families for supporting such a meaningful celebration. Wishing everyone prosperity and happiness in the year ahead. π§§

This week, our children ages 2-5 years old had an exciting visit from the dental team and they absolutely loved it! They learned all about healthy teeth, practiced brushing techniques, and even some children having the opportunity to have a gentle dental check and clean.
We saw lots of big smiles, curious questions, and proud moments as the children showed off how well they look after their teeth.
A big thank-you to our wonderful dental visitors Rubi from My smile doctors for making the experience so positive and engaging!

We had a very special guest β one of our amazing preschool parents joined us to explore the wonders of our galaxy! ππ
Through an interactive and fun-filled activity, the children became the Earth, Moon, and Sun πππ β moving, spinning, and orbiting to understand how day and night happen. Watching their little bodies rotate and shine with curiosity was truly out of this world! π«
Thank you to Mita for helping make science come alive in such a memorable way!
