🧼✨ Celebrating Global Handwashing Day at Little Steps! ✨🧼
Our curious learners joined children around the world to celebrate Global Handwashing Day — discovering just how powerful soap and water can be! 💧
Through fun, hands-on activities like washing “germy” gloves, water-splash sensory play, and our energetic “Chase the Germs Away” game, children learned why clean hands keep everyone healthy and happy. 🙌
The day was full of laughter, music, and teamwork as our little ones explored when and how to wash their hands, created colourful germ art, and proudly practiced their hygiene routines. 🌈
We’re so proud of their growing independence and awareness — proving that healthy habits can be both educational and joyful! 💕

Every Child Has the Right to Feel Safe 💛 | National Child Protection Week
At Little Steps East Lindfield, we proudly celebrated National Child Protection Week with activities designed to help children understand safety, personal boundaries, and the importance of trusted adults.
🌟 Through songs, stories, and role-play, children practiced dialing the emergency number, explored when and how to use it, and talked about who they can turn to when feeling unsafe. Making Gingerbread Men also helped reinforce the important message: “My body belongs to me.”
🎨 At our creative tables, children built houses, drew pictures of their “safe people,” and designed whole communities on felt boards. They expressed their ideas of safe environments—schools, homes, and parks—through drawings, singing, and dancing to body boundaries songs.
Together, we created a colourful “world” poster filled with children’s shapes, a beautiful reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, cared for, and respected.
At Little Steps, child safety always comes first. 💛

🎉 Celebrating Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 🎉
Recenlty we have celebrated Early Childhood Educators’ Day at Little Steps East Lindfield! 💜✨
Our friends showed their love and appreciation in the most heartfelt ways — from drawing special pictures and sharing cuddles to making our educators feel truly valued. 🥰
In the Preschool Room, the children baked a wholesome banana bread just for our educators. They cut the bananas, mixed the ingredients, poured the batter, and proudly shared the warm, delicious treat together. 🍌🍞💛
A huge THANK YOU to all educators — for your dedication, kindness, and the joy you bring into children’s lives every single day. Your hard work makes a lasting difference, and we are so grateful for you! 🌟

🌟 The Power of Physical Play! 🌟
At Little Steps, we know movement is more than just fun — it’s a crucial part of every child’s growth and development!
Gross motor activities help children:
💪 Strengthen their muscles
🤸 Improve coordination and balance
🌈 Build confidence as they explore new ways of moving
But it doesn’t stop there — physical play also supports social skills, problem-solving, and emotional regulation, while giving children an outlet for energy and creativity.
That’s why we set up age-appropriate obstacle courses and movement games designed to build a variety of skills — from climbing and jumping to crawling and balancing. These activities are enriching and exciting, encouraging children to:
✨ Take safe risks
✨ Cheer each other on
✨ Celebrate their achievements together
At Little Steps, every move is a step toward growth, connection, and joy! 💜

📚✨ Book Week 2025 – “Book an Adventure!” at East Lindfield ✨📚
Our East Lindfield little learners had an amazing week celebrating Children’s Book Week (16–23 August) with this year’s theme “Book an Adventure!”.
We explored the magic of stories through favourite classics like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and The Lorax, while some children proudly shared books from home and in their home languages—opening windows to new cultures, words, and ideas. 🌏💡
The excitement reached new heights on dress-up day, with children and educators transforming into Harry Potter, butterflies, lions, koalas, the Cat in the Hat, and many more characters. Through role-play and imagination, our stories truly came to life. 🎭✨
A special thank you to the families who joined us to share stories and read aloud. Your involvement brought so much joy, pride, and a wonderful sense of belonging to our centre community. 💛
Here’s to many more adventures through books! 📖🌟

These hands-on experiences sparked curiosity, encouraged observation and prediction, and built teamwork and social skills 🤝✨. Science in early childhood is about more than experiments—it’s about nurturing a lifelong love of learning and discovery. 💡

🌿 Celebrating Keep Australia Beautiful Week 🌿
From 4–10 August, Little Steps East Lindfield explored the many ways we can care for our environment. 💚
Our children loved learning about our worm farm 🪱 and how worms turn food scraps into healthy compost. We read inspiring picture books, touched and explored Australian native plants, and talked about keeping rubbish out of our oceans. 🌊
Through hands-on fun, we:
✨ Dug for “worms” in a colourful pasta tray
✨ Created art from recycled bottles
✨ Rescued toy sea animals from “rubbish”
Indoors and outdoors, their curiosity, teamwork, and care for nature shone brightly. 🌏 Together, we’re showing our children that even small actions — like recycling, picking up litter, and saving water — can make a big difference in keeping Australia beautiful. 💛
