Inspired by THE HOME EDIT ® - the rainbow bookshelf has been one of the simplest changes we’ve made, yet it has completely transformed the way my child interacts with books. 🌈📚
Since organising our shelves by colour:
- Books are now read daily and not just at bedtime. They’re picked up throughout the day during quiet moments, independent play and family time.
- The colourful arrangement makes books easier to find. Heather often remembers a book by the colour of its spine, strengthening visual memory and encouraging independence.
- Packing away is effortless. Books are returned to their correct place at the end of the day without constant reminders.
- We are far more aware of the books we own, making it easy to rotate titles from our bedroom storage box and keep the collection feeling fresh and exciting.
- It took around 25 minutes to do and was a great activity with my newborn baby in the bouncer watching.
- Most importantly, quiet time has become a non-negotiable part of our day and something our children genuinely look forward to.
Sometimes the smallest changes really can create the biggest impact. 🌈📖
Have you tried a rainbow bookshelf at home?

Heather learns about the importance of babies Safe Sleep Practice because after all the earlier we start the more likely it is to happen!
Always ensure:
• Baby is placed on their back to sleep
• A firm, flat mattress is used
• The cot or sleep space is kept clear of pillows, blankets, toys & bumpers
• A calm, comfortable sleep environment is maintained
• Baby sleeps in their own safe clear sleep space and close by
These simple, evidence-based practices help reduce the risk of SIDS and support healthy, restful sleep.
At Mummys Whispers, your baby’s safety is at the heart of everything we do. We follow all current safe sleeping guidelines, so you can rest knowing your little one is in the safest hands. Reach out if you’d like support in creating safe and more settled nights for you and your baby.

🎥 “Do you mind cameras in the nursery?”
We get asked this all the time and the answer is simple: not at all.
In fact, it’s incredibly common. Many of the homes we work in have cameras throughout the house, not to mention baby monitors connected via WiFi.
For us, it’s never been an issue - if anything, it can be really helpful. Being able to look back and see exactly how your baby was settled or soothed can give you clarity and confidence, especially in those early weeks.
Our role is to support you and your baby, and that includes creating an environment where you feel completely comfortable and reassured.
So if cameras help you feel at ease… keep on filming 🤍

Back in our cute little office space in Double Bay this week after various failed attempts the last few weeks, with a newborn baby in tow… Yes Mum’s we see you - the juggle is real! Week 14 and we did it! This is our happy place and is where the magic happens.
We do client meets in person on a THURSDAY which is always the best time, as the Double Bay Markets are on and so much lovely energy around. Pop in and see us for a coffee and then go have a stroll at the markets for some fresh flowers and baked goods!
We service Australia and New Zealand wide so if you can’t meet us in person we can of course arrange a zoom call. We love meeting the families we work with. 🤍
