🎬 A Night at the Movies 🎢

Last Friday evening, we were treated to a fantastic night of music, with 26 musicians - made up of College Street boys and our music tutors - taking to the stage for β€œA Night at the Movies”.

The orchestra performed a range of memorable movie scores, accompanied by visuals that brought the music to life. There were also some outstanding costumes on display, with many boys embracing the theme and dressing as their favourite movie characters.

Thank you to all the musicians who helped make the evening such a success, to Mrs Waples for conducting, and to Mrs Fane for bringing it all together.

A brilliant night of dancing, fancy dress and fun. Thank you to and everyone who came along.

πŸ‰ Waratahs Visit St Ives

On Monday, we welcomed Joey Walton and Eamon Doyle from the NSW Waratahs to St Ives.

The boys enjoyed hearing about their rugby journeys, life as professional players, and the importance of teamwork on and off the field.

Joey and Eamon also joined our rugby players for a kick around on Cowper Field.

Thank you to the Waratahs for visiting and spending time with the boys.

πŸ₯³ Back to St Ives πŸŽ“

On Saturday evening, we welcomed back our Year 6 Class of 2020, now in Year 12, for their reunion at St Ives.

It was wonderful to see the boys return with their families, reconnect with old friends and teachers, and spend time back at Ayres Road.

A special evening, and a lovely reminder of the lasting connection boys have with St Ives.

🧠 2026 da Vinci Decathlon

Congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 boys who represented St Ives at last Thursday’s NSW State da Vinci Decathlon.

The boys competed against schools from across NSW in a series of challenging events across English, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Art & Poetry, Cartography, Code Breaking, Ideation, Creative Producers, and Legacy.

Our Year 5 team finished an impressive 4th overall out of 74 teams, missing a podium place by just one position. They also achieved equal 1st in Code Breaking, 2nd in Cartography, and 7th in English and Mathematics.

Our Year 6 team also performed brilliantly, placing 3rd overall out of 84 teams, with excellent results including equal 1st in Code Breaking, 3rd in Engineering, 4th in Art & Poetry, 4th in English, and 4th in Legacy.

These results reflect the boys’ creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and willingness to take on complex challenges. We are very proud of the way they represented St Ives.

🎾 GPS Tennis Champions Visit St Ives

Yesterday, the College Street Firsts Tennis Team - this year’s GPS Premiers - visited our Year 5 and 6 boys. The Prep 1sts also had the opportunity to have a hit with their Senior School counterparts.

It was a special moment for St Ives, with every member of the team having come through our Prep. The boys shared stories from their tennis journeys, experiences of high school sport, and insights into what it takes to compete at such a high level.

It was wonderful to welcome them back to St Ives, and we hope this continues to be a valued tradition for both the boys and the school.

Congratulations to all the boys who competed at the IPSHA Cross Country Carnival.

The boys have been training hard with Mr Palethorpe, and their efforts paid off in a big way. An outstanding result, with 13 St Ives boys qualifying for the CIS Carnival later this term - the most of any IPSHA school this year!

πŸ•οΈ Year 4 & 6 Camp – Point Wolstoncroft

At the end of last term, our Year 4 & 6 boys headed to Point Wolstoncroft for camp.

Across the few days, the boys took part in a range of activities, challenged themselves, and enjoyed time by the lake and in the outdoors. It was great to see them stepping outside their comfort zones and supporting each other along the way.

A fantastic few days, and a great way to finish the term.
