The children in the Joyful Room at Our Lady Queen of Peace Greystanes Early Learning have been exploring plant lifecycles through observation, research, and creative illustrations. Their curiosity extended into World Bee Day (20 May), where they were introduced to the idea of St Ambrose the beekeeper and the service’s special bee symbol.
Together they questioned: Where do bees live? How do they make honey? What does a beekeeper do? The children investigated hives, learned how honeycomb is carefully formed, and discovered how important bees are to helping plants grow. They also used a range of materials to make meaning.
Inspired by their learning, the children showed care for the environment by creating water stations in the garden supporting bees to rest and drink.
This wonderful learning experience shows that even the smallest creatures play a big role in helping our world grow!

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of celebrating Mother’s Day across our services, recognising the amazing women in our lives.
At Ambrose Early Learning St John XXIII, they enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea where families came together to connect and celebrate. The afternoon was filled with fun activities including pony and unicorn races, colourful craft, and creating beaded rainbow bracelets. It was such a lovely opportunity for families to enjoy each other’s company and make the most of the wonderful outdoor spaces.

Early Learning Good Shepherd Plumpton won't let all this rain dampen their fun, instead they have taken advantage of the wet weather and purchased some gum boots and poncho's for the children to enjoy the muddy puddles.
Mud play is not only a way to make precious childhood memories, it's also a great way for children to learn, relax, and engage in some physical activity.

At St Mary’s Rydalmere, Sustainability Superstars Month has been full of fun and creativity!
From creating a safe habitat for a caterpillar found in the playground and releasing it back into the garden, to exploring nature through scavenger hunts and growing mung beans, the children have been exploring ways to care for the environment.
They have also been getting creative by using recycled cardboard to make mood boards and reusing Woolworths bags for painting, dressmaking, and STEM challenges.
It has been wonderful to see the children’s creativity, teamwork, and love for sustainability shine throughout these experiences.

To celebrate National Nurses Day, our services took time to say a big thank you to the incredible nurses who care for our community every day.
At St Mary MacKillop, South Penrith the children created thoughtful cards filled with kind and heartfelt messages. These were delivered to the local hospital alongside a beautiful gift basket, generously donated by one of our families.
Over at St Finbar’s School Age Care in Glenbrook, children also made wonderful thank you cards for local nurses, while learning valuable skills about what to do in an emergency.
We love seeing our children show such kindness, appreciation, and strong community spirit.
