The children at St Aidan’s School Age Care, Rooty Hill, recently enjoyed a special visit from local Police and Fire Brigade officers, providing a valuable opportunity to learn about the important role emergency services play in keeping our community safe.

The visit gave children a chance to explore a police car and fire engine up close, ask questions, and gain insight into the work of our first responders. Experiences like these help foster community connections, inspire curiosity, and deepen children's understanding of the people who serve and protect our local communities.

A sincere thank you to our Police and Fire Brigade teams for sharing their time and knowledge with our children.

Recently, the children from St Michael’s Early Learning, Blacktown South, enjoyed an exciting visit to the school library at St Michael's Blacktown South .

The children were delighted to meet Miss Pinto, the school librarian, who welcomed them into the library, explained how to care for books, and showed them how to choose and borrow stories. A highlight of the visit was the opportunity for each child to borrow a book for the week to take home and enjoy with their family.

These school library visits will continue weekly to support the children to continue building familiarity and confidence with the library and school environment.
Experiences like this are an important part of our Ambrose Foundations Pre-Kindergarten Program which supports children with a smooth and successful transition to Kindergarten.

A special visit from Merrylands Fire and Rescue brought lots of excitement for the children at Our Lady Queen of Peace Early Learning, since they have spent several weeks learning about firefighters and fire safety. 🚒🔥

The children proudly demonstrated their fire safety knowledge, explored the fire truck, learned about firefighters' important role in the community, and even had a turn using the fire hose. Some of our educators couldn't resist joining in too!

A heartfelt thank you to our firefighter families for helping to organise this special visit, and to the wonderful team from Merrylands Fire and Rescue for generously sharing their time, knowledge and equipment. It was an unforgettable experience that inspired learning and brought plenty of smiles.

We love celebrating the ongoing success of this year’s wellbeing program across our school age care services.

At St Francis of Assisi School Age Care, Year 4 students were invited to take on leadership roles within the program, and it has been wonderful to see these young leaders step up with enthusiasm and maturity.

A special recognition goes to Zara, who has embraced her leadership role with confidence and care. She listens attentively and supports younger children throughout each session, then thoughtfully documents their participation and work to create portfolios to share with families. Zara’s contribution is a wonderful example of the leadership, responsibility, and care our young people are capable of demonstrating.

We look forward to seeing the program continue to grow and inspire positive wellbeing in our children.

Happy Early Childhood Educators' Day!

Today, we celebrate all the incredible educators who help shape young minds, nurture curiosity, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

This year's theme, "The Future Starts With Us!", recognises the powerful role early childhood educators play in building the foundations for every child's future. Through their care, dedication, and passion, they help children grow with confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging.

At Ambrose, we thank all our early childhood educators for the positive difference you make every day. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom and into the future of our communities.

Last week was National Skills Week and it was a wonderful opportunity for Ambrose to connect with and inspire students interested in the growing Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

Through our valued partnerships, we were able to showcase career pathways and opportunities available in Early Learning and School Age Care.

In collaboration with the CSPD Pathways Team, Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) - Department of Education, coordinated an Exploring Early Childhood workshop, where the Ambrose team shared valuable insights into careers within the ECEC sector.

We were also excited to participate in St Columba's Catholic College Skilled Futures Careers Expo, speaking with Years 10, 11 and 12 students about the diverse and rewarding opportunities available at Ambrose.

At Ambrose, we are proud to collaborate, inspire, and champion the future of Early Childhood Education and Care by engaging with the next generation of educators and care professionals.

If you are in year 12 and looking for your next step, check out these opportunities currently available at Ambrose:
