🌿 Group Time with Miss Mahima 🌿

Our Busy Bees enjoyed gathering outdoors today for group time with Miss Mahima! ☀️🍃

Group time provides wonderful opportunities for children to develop their listening skills, confidence, communication, and sense of belonging within the group. Through stories, discussions, songs, and shared experiences, children are encouraged to express their ideas and learn from one another in a supportive environment.

What a beautiful day to learn, connect, and grow together in the fresh air! 💛

Today's artwork focused on creating a flower-head using craft paper to imitate the petals! The children used paintbrushes to gently apply the safety glue and then hand picked each flower petal to create their masterpiece's!

Visit from Uncle Aeeron and Aunty Sandra

Today we had a visit from one of our families that are Aboriginal and to coincide with Reconciliation week they happily discussed the artefacts and meanings behind them to the children. Beginning with telling the children the area they come from then looking at Cartar and Liam's bracelets and aunty Sandra told the children what each colour represents and then went onto the ceremonies and the colour of Ochre from the rocks that they grind and make a paste to put onto their faces for the ceremonies.
Uncle Aeeron then showed us the boomerangs and the clapping sticks that was made and discussed the different woods that they are made from. Uncle Aeeron then showed us the Digeridoo's that was made for him and then made sounds like a Kookaburra and other sounds that you may here in the country. Uncle Aeeron also told us the story of the rainbow serpent and then sang Inanay song.
