We had such a great time during the school holidays with our Gardening Club with Springwood Neighbourhood Centre Cooperative Ltd.

In the first week we went on a trip to Springwood Community Garden to see all the amazing plants, flowers and vegetables growing there. The children enjoyed having their lunch in the cubbies and the shady groves 🌿🌼🍄‍🟫

Then we had a visit from local Koori man Brendan Kerin who taught us all about Bush Tucker and the wonderful uses for the natural plants used by Aboriginal people. We even got to hear him play a Didgeridoo... 🪈🪹🍃

We had a fabulous time last week at our new Gardening Club 🌸

The children had such a fun time preparing the soil and planting herbs, all with the help of staff and volunteers from Springwood Neighbourhood Centre Cooperative Ltd 🎋 🌼

There was lots of fun and interesting conversations to be heard as soil was turned over and plants were selected 🌿 🌻 and Springwood Neighbourhood Centre were so kind to donate tools, soil, plants and everything needed to refurbish our garden beds including their time and effort.

The children are looking forward to the next gardening club event later today, and each Thursday afternoon for a few weeks 🪴🍃🪹🎍

We're really looking forward to our 10 week Gardening Club programme coming up next week.

The children will have fun cultivating the soil, planting herbs, vegetables, flowers and bush tucker foods. It will be such a great experience, run by staff and volunteers from the Springwood Neighbourhood Centre Cooperative Ltd.

The programme is open to all enrolled children. We have vacancies if your child would like to join us.

We loved today’s visit from Reptiles Up Close.. 🪱

It was fun to see and handle some of the beautiful native animals 🐍

Brett made it lots of interactive fun for everyone and it was great to learn a little more about the environment too🦎

Lots of fun with friends on our first day back in 2026, making edible jewellery.

The colourful creations looked good and tasted good too!!
