As a grant recipient, you will have the opportunity to receive training and mentoring from the Student Life team. You will also develop essential skills such as leadership, communication, project management, budgeting, and reporting. Plus, your work will significantly impact the student experience, and you'll be recognised as a leader within the University community.

What are Advertised Bursaries?
Advertised Bursaries are mini scholarships providing financial support for specific challenges or circumstances. Your enrolment in a particular faculty, your year of study, being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island student or being registered with Inclusion and Disability will determine your eligibility. These bursaries are open for both undergraduate and postgraduate domestic students with assistance ranging from $500 (10h 0m) to $5000 (100h 0m).

How can I apply?
To be considered for an Advertised Bursary, you will need to provide some supporting documents in your application via Sydney Student.

To apply for an Advertised Bursary via Sydney Student, go to ‘My finance’, ‘Scholarships, prizes, bursaries and loans’, ‘Applications’, then ‘Advertised bursary application’. You will be asked to upload supporting documents such as bank statements and Centrelink documentation with some Advertised Bursaries requiring additional specific supporting document. If you are applying for serval Advertised Bursaries at once, make sure you submit the supporting documents required for all of the bursaries you are applying for.

Students in the Faculty of Engineering that are in financial need and meet the criteria can apply for the following bursaries:

J N Ellis Bursary
You are eligible to apply if you are:

• an undergraduate or postgraduate student
• enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies.

The value of the bursary is up to $500 (10h 0m) and is a one-off payment.
