🇦🇺 5 major changes to Australia’s Migration Program planning levels

1️⃣ The Skilled Independent visa, subclass 189, increased from 16,900 to 21,900 places.

This may improve chances for priority occupations, including construction trades, health professionals and teachers.

2️⃣ The Employer Sponsored 186 visa increased from 44,000 to 58,040 places.

The 186 now makes up 31.37% of the overall skilled program. For many people, the main pathway to the 186 PR visa is through the Skills in Demand 482 visa.

3️⃣ Regional visas were cut.

The 491 and 494 visas decreased from 33,000 to 14,110 places.

The State and Territory nominated 190 visa increased from 33,000 to 35,500 places.

If you are looking at the 190 or 491 visas, make sure you have a Plan B.

It may be harder than last year to receive an invitation for the 190 and 491 visas.

4️⃣ Family visas, including Partner, Child and Parent visas, remained almost the same, with 52,460 places.

5️⃣ Talent and Innovation visas, including the National Innovation Visa, decreased from 5,300 to 3,500 places.
