Summer is coming...kids are running around in bare feet... Ouch...Beware of bindi's or treading on a bee. Bees leave their stinger in the skin. The site of the sting will feel hot and it may itch, there will be a red bump surrounded by white skin. Remove the stinger by scraping it out as quickly as possible. Apply ice or a cold compress to the site.
Watch out for an allergic reaction, especially anaphylaxis, which is a severe allergic reaction. If there are any signs of breathing problems, cough, wheeze, tight throat, swollen tongue, seek medical help immediately. If the child is known to have anaphylaxis to bee sting, give their epipen if there's any sign of breathing problems.
