Today two of our SRC representatives attended Eastwood Heights PS to collaborate with other SRC students in the Gordon Network.

We are incredibly proud to share our fantastic 2026 NAPLAN results.

This year, our Year 3 and Year 5 students achieved their best ever results in the highest (Exceeding) band in multiple areas - and the numbers speak for themselves.

In Year 3, the percentage of students in the Exceeding band grew across every single area of NAPLAN from last year:

Numeracy +12%
Reading +11%
Spelling +12%
Grammar and Punctuation +4%
Writing +1%

In Year 5, growth continued across the below areas from last year:

Reading +4%
Numeracy +4%
Spelling +3%
Writing +13%

What makes these results even more significant is that Chatswood Public School now sits at its highest ever gap above statistically similar schools in the percentage of students achieving in the Exceeding band for multiple areas below.

Best ever results for Year 3 in reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy.
Best ever results for Year 5 in reading, writing, and spelling.

This is not luck. It is the result of expert teaching, a genuine culture of high expectations and a school community that believes every child can achieve their potential.

Year 2 and Year 3 had a blast trying out musical instruments!

Our school proudly hosted a special Gawura Cultural Immersions Day to celebrate NAIDOC week. Students engaged in a range of hands-on activities and storytelling sessions. This experience provided our students with a greater understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture.

Today our School Captains and Vice Captains were invited to NSW Parliament House as a guest of Mr Tim James, the Member for Willoughby.
The visit included a reception and tour of the Legislative Assembly. We thank Mr James for this wonderful opportunity.

Today we celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival with a vibrant lion dance, wonderful performances from our Stage 2 and Stage 3 dance groups, and our annual teacher vs student dragon boat race.

Tonight and on Thursday evening our Stage 2&3 dance students will be performing at Glen St Theatre. Countless hours have gone into their performance and we are very proud. We wish them all the best. A big thank you to our wonderful dance teachers.

Our school team won a gold medal at the Hello Mandarin Competition this year! We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and this outstanding achievement.
