✨ Our very own Adventurer palaeontologists were busy today trying to extract their dinosaur fossils from a ball of ice. We used hammers, picks, warm water and paint brushes. We were very busy trying to get our dinosaurs out. It almost took an hour! Our palaeontologists showed amazing patience and determination. When we finally extracted our dinosaurs we decided to name them we had a couple of Batman’s, a Spider-Man, Belle, tinkerbell and some supergirls. ✨

This week the Preschoolers started to have group discussions about Easter. The children shared what Easter means to them and how they celebrate each year. It was great to hear the many stories and activities that all families do each year.
After the discussion, the children participated in a creative Easter activity. They got to use the loose parts to create their own Easter Egg.

Welcome to the Explorers Medical Centre. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by our medical receptionist Mr C, who is busy scheduling in appointments on the computer. Once you have an appointment, our friendly doctors- Dr A, Dr S, Dr M, Dr J and Dr X are more than happy to assess you. We had xrays been examined, medicine being administered, a moon boot for serious foot injuries and bandages to go around arms and legs. The children have had a blast taking on these roles!
Did you know that dramatic play in early childhood has so many benefits, such as developing social skills, developing language and communication and so much more!

Bakers Delight is opening at Forestway on Monday! And to support FFPS they are donating ALL proceeds from the sale of their Hi-Fibre Lo-GI loaf for the entire opening week to our school 😍
Spread the word far and wide, and head to Bakers Delight Forestway next week for a fabulous loaf of bread (or two, or three.... 😋)

Yesterday we drew on some inspiration from some famous artists and their own self portraits. Here we have Frida Kahlo who was famous for creating her own self portraits. In the artistic world, she is actually known as the Queen of self portraits! We also looked at a Van Gogh self portrait and the very famous painting; The Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. Such a great way to introduce the children to these iconic Artists

Today is World Down Syndrome Day.
"On this day, people all around the world celebrate the lives and achievements of people with Down syndrome. March 21st provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the rights and inclusion of people with Down syndrome around the world." - Down Syndrome Australia.
To raise awareness for Down Syndrome, we encouraged everyone to come to kindy, wearing crazy/bright/odd socks. When people ask why we are wearing bright/crazy socks, you tell them about Down Syndrome awareness & inclusion.
The idea is that socks come in all shapes, sizes, and designs, just like each of us.

From afar, it looks as though Mr D, is hard at work on a construction site 🚧👷🏽‍♂️
Upon further investigation and a discussion with his educator Rhyannon, he is actually transporting some salmon and apples with a crane, onto a truck, so that it can take it away.
Dont you just love children’s imaginations, and how they incorporate them into play?
